These are great jeans, especially if you bought the 90's loose regular jeans; these are very similar but with the cargo detailing. But, as with what happens often, there is no consistency in sizing, so you have to try a few. I ordered the 27 regular, and the 27 short, as I sometimes like the short t...o be able to wear all heel heights. For reference, I am 5'5", and 115 lbs. The sizing guide inseam is NOT correct, use the dimensions in the "Fit description", but the 27 regular, which should have fit the same as short, other than length, was much looser around waist and backside, and throughout leg in general. I was ready to go down in size, and then tried the 27 short (note: the review menu doesn't give option for short, only petite, which further confuses things as petite inseam is different from short- are you listening GAP people in charge of website? !) and it fit perfectly-gave me the loose comfy fit I like, without making me look totally shapeless. That was a pretty big disparity for the same size pant. I do normally take a 27, but every 27 runs differently. I decided to keep the short which looks to hit my foot in about same place as the photo of model...looks good with a boot with a heel, as well as flats, mules and trainers.
Bigger girls this review is for you--I often buy a 35 in Gap jeans. They fit perfect (or loose) right out of the bag and then throughout the day stretch to become sloppy big. I decided to buy these in a smaller size, but these jeans are SMALL right out of the bag. They have a light stretch and ar...e thin material. At first I thought they would be way too small (ugh, returns) -- very tight through the thighs and rear and hard to button. Not the look I was hoping for. But, as with gap jeans, a few deep knee bends with hands in pockets and they stretched out immediately to an ok fit. They won't be loose like the thin model in the pics, but they do now fit like the plus size model's pants: snug in the upper thighs but loose below the knee. Throughout a day's wear, they will likely become much more loose through the thighs and hips. These are not jeans I will be putting in the dryer--they would be unwearable then. The color is definitely 90's washed out black jeans. I'm 5'6" and the length is exactly right--break in the hem--good for low heels.

These are exactly as pictured and fit comfortably true to size, baggy but not huge in the legs.

I really like these style of jeans. I had the high-rise version from a few years ago, but outgrew them & bought these. The quality feels much thinner, but still soft and lightweight. I am typically a size 27 and ordered a 27R that fit well, but exchanged for a longer length. The pair that came were significantly looser in the waist and thighs (1-2" difference, they feel like a 28-29 to me). I don't mind, but something to be aware of if you're buying a longer length. Gap - please do not assume that longer inseam indicates need for a bigger waist!

They were ok. The bottom splits out weird which I didn't notice ie when buying and it sits funny on shoes. The rest of the jean is ok. Runs on the smaller side.
