I had gap carpenter jeans 30 years ago and they were my favorite and these don't disappoint. They sit on hips, loose through seat and a great straight leg. Wide but not too wide and easily dressed up with a chunky boot and a belt. I prefer this over cargo pants with a handy leg side pocket big enoug...h for an iPhone. Gives that beach casual vibe, too. A great feeling denim. They do run a but big and long. If you're in between 30 and 32 inseams, try the 30. I bought regular which is great for a rollup look and i ordered a second pair in the short.
Who designed these? They are laughable. The leg is tapered for starters. It goes from 11" across above the knee down to 9" at the bottom hem. not straight leg so they hang all ganky and stupid and look as such. Next, the rise is 10.5" (on my size 26 short inseam). That's a high rise on a 5'3" perso...n, not "mid". Once again, impossible for them to hang 'cool' with a rise that high. And the hammer loop is sewn on twisted? I'm not sure if that's intentional or a defect, but it looks bad. Lastly, the fabric. They really put spandex in carpenter jeans lolololol. As if. The nail in the coffin as to why they one of the saddest attempts at a carpenter jean ever.

These fit like a glove on me but not the advertised loose fit, even though I ordered my normal size. Snug with no gaping. Perfect inseam for full length. A little loose in the leg. Aligns with what the size guide said. I do not love the weird soft material. I prefer stiffer denim. 5'7", w 28" h 40", athletic build with muscular thighs and glutes.

I'm 5'2 and 135 lbs. I ended up ordering a 30R. Usually a 29-30 inch inseam is perfect for me. After reading the "Fit and Sizing" specifications I decided that the regular length would be best since it was described as have a 30 inch inseam. Once I received these pants I noticed that they were way too long for me, they were probably a 33-34 inch inseam. They were also very, very baggy in the hips/rear area. The waist was also pretty big for me, so consider one waist size down. I returned these and ordered a 29 petite, so hopefully they will fit better.
