I know there's been some debate about whether or not the coat has pockets under those side flaps and they most definitely do. You need to just snip them open! They are deep too! Is the coat warm? 100% its got wool. Is it itchy around the neck? Frankly, a little. Wearing a scarf or collared sh...irt will fix that tho. I love the length and color a lot, but your kids might roast you for looking like a mad scientist or the burglar from home alone. But you'll have the last laugh because you'll be warmer than them since they don't like to wear jackets anyway.
I am a very typical small, however wanted to be able to layer this with thicker sweaters during the winter - so I went with a medium. Even so, when wearing a thin tshirt, it was too tight in the shoulders and arms. I am returning for a large and crossing my fingers. I also wish that it had a tie wai...st band in addition to the buttons - it would make for a more flattering piece. Regarding the pockets - there definitely are some, but as typical with other jackets, you must remove a couple light seams in order to open.

This is a lovely, well made, well structured coat. However, it is ENORMOUS!! Trying it on with a sweater and shirt underneath and it was still HUGE! I'm 5'6", 143 lbs. I am usually a L (chesty) but because of winter sweaters etc. I decided to order an XL. I think if I ordered a medium it would fit perfectly, even with a bulky sweater. Be warned before ordering!!

This is a really nice wool coat. I like that it is long and the material has some weight to it. My only critique is that the sleeves are somewhat tight if you wear a think sweater underneath. I ordered a medium and large. The large sleeves fit nicely with room for a sweater but the rest of the coat was too big. So, I ended up keeping the medium.

I purchased this coat online, on sale, in Medium and Large, as I wasn't sure how it would fit me. I am 5'6" and weigh 145#. I kept the Medium. It fit fine everywhere, even the shoulders. It is a beautiful coat, warmer and heavier than I expected and it does have pockets. I needed a dressier coat for Ohio winters and I am so glad I found it!

Purchased this coat for my daughter who wanted a more elevated look for work as well as something to keep her warm. The length is pretty long, but she is on the shorter side. It was hard to find a trench coat that had some weight to it and is machine washable. Thankfully I found one. I would give it 5 stars, if it came in petite sizes and included a belt.

I wanted to love that coat due to its greatly reduced price and nice herringbone pattern that's so hard to find. I ordered a Medium (5'8" and 138 lbs). The size is alright but the look is disappointing. The coat is quite boxy, adding width all over. The heavy material and double-breasted style make it worse. Will return.

Not my first gap coat. But way better than the previous two. This time gap took the time to design something stylish, well finished inside out and for those of us that live in extremely cold temperatures, this coat is the perfect thing to keep you warm while looking good. I am a size L bought an Xl so i can use a sweater or sweatshirt if i choose to (but really, no need) It helped me to make the right choice, that under the product details was described as fully lined, the other two had NOT such descriptions and i was very disappointed when i got them. still wear them, but not for what and when i wanted.
