The slim fit has an elastic waist sizer - which is great. Unfortunately the buttons were not sewn in well and one of the sized buttons fell off as soon as we used it.

My son is skinny, and even most "slim" cuts are way too big for him. This leads to a lot of pants with elastic waists and ankle bands, so his clothes don't fall off. But he still needs to be able to wear actual pants on certain days. These pants are among the few from mainstream brands I've found that actually fit skinny. I still order the "slim" version of the city "slim" pant, but really, these actually work! Quality is solid, too.

I'm "exchanging" these for a husky size, hoping that they fit. The regular size does not appear to fit as a regular. I don't want to tank the rating based off of this, but also can't say whether they are a preferred item or not, since the ones ordered do not fit.
