I don't know who made up that sizing guide but obviously if you are a women's medium you shouldn't order the medium if that is also supposed to fit a men's medium. These are wonderful pants for sleeping or lounging around the house. They are so soft and comfortable. They are definitely oversized, which is exactly what I wanted, but they're honestly even bigger than I thought they would be. For reference, I am 5'3 and 108 lbs. and I got an XS. They are perfect!

I'm female, 8 tall, 155 lb 5.9, 35 length jeans, and these bottoms are great in a M tall in black watch. The blue with white stripes are slightly bigger and fit in a S tall. The blue are also slightly longer. I have been washing cold (according to instructions) inside out, in a mesh bag and hung dry and so far the pilling and shrinking has been minimal. Not quite vintage quality but it's where we're at. Cozy and long enough. I would buy again.
