I don't know who made up that sizing guide but obviously if you are a women's medium you shouldn't order the medium if that is also supposed to fit a men's medium. 5'10 female 34 inseam. Mostly a M or sometimes a L tall in womens pj's & pants. Ordered beige stripe Brannen bear @ amazing final sale price :), Chose L tall for oversize comfort + to allow for any shrinkage. Fit is fine, comfy soft fabric, loose but not too big & length touches floor ..so ok if they do shrink in wash. Haven't worn or washed yet hence 4*
