This is not the same kind of waxed cotton that is used in hunting vests--like Barbour. It's much lighter weight, softer, more supple. Really isn't the same look except for the style of it. I got a L Regular and torso fits well, (should be able to get sweater underneath) not too oversized. But the pockets sit a little high to my mind, so I'm going to try a L Tall and see which feels better. It is lined, but not a thick quilting. I don't know if I'll keep, or just wait for something else that has a more waxed, field & stream feel.

i really wanted to love this vest but i do not & had to return. i ordered a M, normally i'm L in outerwear & though abit roomy around the shoulders, that part was workable. however the waist is so wide that it hung off me in a "bell" shape. it's not flattering. disappointed i couldn't keep...
