I first bought this jacket in a regular XS and like the other reviewers I felt like the sleeves were a bit much. I thought maybe I should try the petite size instead and then the sleeves wouldn't be so long and feel so huge. If the cuff hit right at my wrist maybe the pleats on the sleeve would sit better and I was right. I did size up in the petite to a small and really happy with how it fits. It is a thinner denim but still hefty and it's nice and soft and flowy

I absolutely love the weight and color of the fabric on this jacket. It is beautiful, and the dark denim is glorious. It is a long, past hip length on me-I am 6'1" and purchased my normal (oversized) Gap denim jacket size of Large Tall. The jacket fits as expected in the torso. HOWEVER, this jacket is going back immediately, do not pass go, do not collect $200. It is going back for only one reason-the sleeves on this jacket are MASSIVE. They are SO wide and there is SO much extra fabric, that I am truly baffled how I could get anything done while wearing this jacket. I am very tall, and athletically built, with very long arms-yet still, the amount of fabric in these sleeves is overwhelming, even on me. With my arms hanging straight down, the fabric billows down and pools around my wrists and hands that makes me look like I should take up fencing. The length of the sleeve is fine, it is the width/bulk of them that is unmanageable, at least for me. I own several Gap Denim Jackets. They have been my go to for decades. Recently, so many of their jackets are SO cropped (even the tall), and I personally do not choose to wear cropped jackets. So, I was very excited to see this jacket that appeared to have a more "standard" cut in the length. I also understand that this jacket is advertised as a "balloon sleeve", so I expected a non-traditional, fuller sleeve, of course. But this is way beyond that. Way, way beyond. Balloon like BLIMP! None of the pictures of the Gap model wearing this jacket clearly demonstrate just how large and in-charge these sleeves are. If they had, I never would have ordered it. The front picture of the jacket lying flat conceals the bulk of the sleeves. Whoever arranged the photo, I can now see clearly, has tucked the sleeves on both sides underneath the jacket for the photo. It makes me sad to send it back, but I wear the heck out of my jackets and I need them to be functional. Hopefully this review will help someone else!

The colour was great and the fabric was soft and draped well but the balloon sleeves looked really ridiculous unless you keep your arms down. I was looking for an oversized body shape but the sleeves really threw me off so it's going back. I think I prefer a heavier denim like the jacket that I still have from when I worked at The Gap in Vancouver 30 years ago.
