The color is beautiful, the material is nice, and the straps are lovely, but the construction of the bodice doesn't work for curves. Typically, Gap dresses that fit my hips fall off my shoulders. This dress fit my hips (size 16) wonderfully (a miracle, I thought!); however, the narrow bodice and no-give material meant it couldn't zip up my ribcage. Sadly, I'll be returning due to the narrow top construction.

This dress would be great, but the end of the zipper is weirdly long, thick and heavy and sticks out from under the fabric. I don't know if it's because I am tallish (5'8") and got a small size (I tried both a 0 and a 2), but it looks like I have a literal tail that is trying to poke out from under the dress, which otherwise hangs really nicely. The dress fits well other than that, and I'm considering if it's worth having a tailor try to replace the zipper in a way that it won't do this, since I purchased this on final sale. I wonder if they just used too long a zipper for the small size, because on the inside of the dress, it extends really far past what you can even zip up. It's strange and unfortunate.

Good: solid fabric that does have a drape, very different from cheap slip dresses on the market; Bad: the fit model Gapstudio uses must be very tall and thin torso, typical luxury label type of fit model, because the 00 on 5'4 107lbs body is way too long that the look is off. It zips up but very tight on the ribs with no giving. Highly recommend to try on before buying or ready to get multiple pieces and return. This dress has so much potential but only work (to achieve that look captured on the ecom pix) for a very small demographic. That is understandable for a luxury label but for Gap, one would expect more. Just have a bit more stretch in the fabric, and show the fit on different type of body and height on the website, it would help this dress convert so much more.
