This dress is perfect for summer. It is versatile enough that I've worn it with cute heels and and I've also dressed it down with sneakers and a shirt over the top. It runs true to size but if you're bustier I'd recommend sizing up.
The black is definitely a dark charcoal gray. Very cute style, shape and fit overall. Except the bodice/bust is ridiculously loose--I am a DD and never had issues where a top is too big! The straps are also too long. I will keep this dress because it is very cute and flattering overall. I plan to ta...ke in under the arms and visually create another ruching of sorts. I will also add bra keepers under the straps so they don't fall. I don't sew so this will be an interesting adventure.

I ordered a size large and normally I'm a medium, but did so knowing there would be no stretch in the material. It fits well on the lower part of my body, but the top is too big and I will have it taken in by a seamstress. It is a cute style, but has no give (stretch).

I already left a review but did not use the link Gap sent, so here's an update. I created a pleat/ruching on each side of the bust and it blends in perfectly with the dress. I also attached a bra keeper to each strap. I think I should have bought a Medium but I like having the dress not be form fitting especially during hot summer months.

Looks like a charcoal grey in person. The top portion sits weird. I thought I misbuttoned it, but nope, it just sat weird. I ordered the denim one too. Hopefully, it's not the same situation.
