I am 5'1", 102 lbs. A fit 65 year old. Bought the XS. Dress was super cute, but when I tried it on the arm holes were really tight, and I don't have large arms. However, the shoulder straps were a bit too long. If I had it altered and shortened the straps, that would pull the dress higher up and mad...e the arm holes even tighter. So sadly it's going back. Because there is a zipper on the side that goes right up to the arm hole, there's no way to make the arm holes bigger without a lot of expense. Probably will fit a skinny teenager, but not a thin grandma like me.
I bought the blue floral pattern as I thought the color was lovely. I was disappointed that the straps were too long, the dress fit well at the bust and hips. I considered altering the straps, but realized there is a seam starting at the bust, that runs vertically down the center of the dress that ...I didnt like. Unfortunately, I have to return. For reference, I am 5 '3 and bought this in Petite M. It hit right at my ankles.

Great dress for all occasions. I'm 5'6", 138 lbs. bought a medium in the floral print and had to size down to small in the black. Gap's sizing is always a challenge. Wish the linen fabric was a lit thicker in the black.
