I have noticed the "barrel" style jean for awhile, but wasn't sure it was for me-I have been wearing slim jeggings for years. However, in the spirit of trying something new, I tried on a pair in my local GAP-and they really were cute! They run big-needed one size down to fit. Also,they were too long-and I realized I needed a "short" inseam. I figured you could get this online-and you can. While browsing, I found this knit version, which sounded perfect-so I ordered them. They ARE perfect-size, length and style! Not stiff and not as "balloony". I can definitely see wearing them with sneakers or flip flops when the weather warms up. If you have been hesitant like me to wear this style-give these a try!!
