Cute denim dress but short

I would say this runs on the smaller and shorter side. Purchased petite medium and was a bit too short and small for me, went to a medium and fits better, still a bit tighter than I would like, thought it would've been less body skimming. But overall like and will be keeping. I am 5'3" for reference...

Nice soft jean fabric. I don't have a flat stomach so this dress doesn't work for me. I was hoping with the right jean structure it would be forgiving but it wasn't. Still a cute dress with it fitting in all other areas, especially my height. I'm 5'3", 160 lbs
