The inner shorts are too long, they can fall below the hem of the skirt- not sure if maybe the skirt I got is specifically defective but seems an odd design flaw

I'm normally an M/L so I ordered a size M thinking it would be a little tight but it was actually very loose around my waist. I also ordered a petite thinking it would be at a shorter length but it was also quite long for a mini skirt. For reference I am 5'3, 140lbs. The material was really nice though and I loved the red color.
