I agree with other reviewers - the sizing is off on top as if someone sewed a larger top onto a smaller skirt. I'm in between a S and M, but got the medium. I actually really like it - I'm 5'4" - not too long, not too short. The fabric is a nice, pretty, medium weight cotton, and it's lined, not see... through, overall really well made. The straps are slightly elasticized to be adjustable for fit, but I'm a petite up top and they're a little long, which I can get altered. I can barely button the waist, so if the smallest part of your waist is 30" or less, the medium will not fit; however, I do like how it defines my waist. I'm around 138 lbs and a 34DD for reference and it's still loosey-goosey up top, especially along the upper edge (it bags out under my armpits) - I'll need to get that tightened up a little as well. There's a little bit of wide elastic hidden in the seams at the back of the waist and upper edge (could use more at the upper edge). No zipper, so you have to unbutton the waist buttons to slide it over your head. I usually will never spend over $100 on a dress, but because of the quality and style, I'll make minor alterations and keep it.

The skirt, on the other hand, has too much extra fabric, and it makes me look much more bottom heavy than I am. I... love the pockets though, and it is comfortable. I don't have super easy access to tailoring, but I kept the dress because I am tall and have a hard time finding anything else like this dress, so I'm quite used to settling with clothing. It could be so much better. I am hoping to find a tailor to take in the skirt.

I bought an XL-T. Contrary to what other commenters said, I think the bust is an OK size but then tapers quite a bit under the bust - when I sit down, some of the buttons come undone. The skirt, on the other hand, has too much extra fabric, and it makes me look much more bottom heavy than I am. I love the pockets though, and it is comfortable. The fit is a bit odd like people are saying, but I still like it enough to keep it. It definitely has extra fabric under the arms but i don't think it looks bad. I sized up to a M (i'm usually a S or M) so that it fit in the waist. i like that it's lined so it feels quality. #sweepstakes

I'm a 10/12 and bought the large. It fits perfect in the waist, but there was a lot of extra fabric around the bust. I'm a 36 DD but not a full cup and I'm set far apart. The dress was SO sweet and comfy so I'm having it tailored. #sweepstakes

Such a beautiful dress but the fit was so loose and wide in the bodice on both sides that I thought I had received the wrong size. It's a beautiful dress but unwearable without tailoring. This has been my experience with all the dresses in the Doen x Gap collection unfortunately :( #sweepstakes
