TLDR: These are such fabulous pants but each pair is different from the other and you cannot count on sizing whatsoever (order a few of the size you need and keep the one that fits best) and they might change irrevocably in the wash. Right out of the package these are my dream pants. The fabric and drape is beautiful, chic, and the machine washability is critical. I have two big caveats. I ordered this in a few colors and the different colors fit very differently--this is common enough these days and I never trust that two colors of a product will fit the same anymore. However, in this case it went farther: I ended up having two pairs of the size 8 Tall navy pinstripe at the same time, and those two identical pants were COMPLETELY different sizes. The difference in length was about 3 inches, and the width of each leg had a 1.5 inch difference--for the same size, same color. The shorter/smaller one did not fit at all, and the other was a perfect fit and was actually so long I would need to tailor the length (a good problem to have, in my opinion! I'd much rather have something too long and be tailorable than too short). I read in reviews that these pants can shrink after washing, so I decided to wash before tailoring. I washed on delicate cycle, cold, and hung to dry. The pants shrank a lot. Sometimes with linen, it shrinks in the wash and stretches back out after you wear it a bit. This shrank so much that it went from needing to be hemmed 2 inches or so to being just a hair too short. The legs went from a lovely oversized baggy drape to a totally different look--no longer baggy chic. The waist was a bit loose to begin with (in a nice way) and is now snug bug not tight. They may stretch a bit, but they definitely won't return to original form. I don't think these are wearable for me, so it's just a loss. See before/after photos attached.

I have these in herringbone, and the fit is similar in the waist, but the length is perhaps a little shorter for the red linen (6R for both). The elastic at the back is a nice feature to give a little breathing room at the waist; I think these look nice when snug at the waist, so having that elastic for comfort is important. Not all the high rise trousers have this feature, but these do. Pockets are a bit shallow given how big these pants are, but that seems to be a problem with all women's clothes, doesn't it? I'd call the color a "true red" nice and bright. The linen is a little itchy, but maybe that's just how linen is. I gave 4 stars because compared to the herringbone ones I have, they just aren't quite as comfortable, but perhaps they will feel better if I break them in. I'll probably keep them.
