I went by the sizing information (not the chart, the information specific to these jeans) and got a 28 regular. I'm 5'4" and 145lbs for reference. The fit everywhere was amazing, but the regulars had a 30" inseam (I measured). I would love to exchange them for a short, or even petite size so I get a true ankle pant like I wanted, but I don't know if I can trust the size chart and they're sold out locally. It appears someone else had previously returned this pair as well, as the packing bag was ripped open and tags were detached and just tucked into pockets, so I'm nervous about trying to return them even though I didn't detach the tags. I was excited for these pants and like the design, but based on this, I don't know if I will reorder. 3 stars because the design and quality do seem good, they just don't work for me and it would have been nice to have accurate sizing information to reference. I overall would recommend the product, just that buyers proceed with caution.

The denim is so very soft, washes and wears very well. Very comfy jeans! When I was 16, my mom picked me up from high school one afternoon and said, "I need to take you to this new store called the Gap. You'll love it." I am now 71 years old and have never looked back. They fit true to the standard sizing used by RW, Rickies, and Reitmans. A friend in Edmonton ordered one, too . .The ankle length is not too short to be a problem in winter, but I would have ordered the TALL.to get the extra 2", if they'd not been sold out in the 29" Tall. Great job, GAP! From a very pleased 71 year old.

Size guide stated I should have expected a 29 in inseam for a 31 short. However, today I looked at the product details and the inseams are as follows: Inseam: Petite 25.5" (65 cm), Short 26" (66 cm), Regular 27.5" (70 cm), Long 29.5" (75 cm), Tall 32" (81 cm). What's the point of a size guide link when it's completely not accurate?! I had to return them because 26 inches is too dang short for my 5 ft 2 in frame.
