Size up if you don't want them to high rise. They are at my belly button or higher so I wouldn't say that's mid rise. I got the 10 tall and wanted to exchange for 12 regular so they will fit lower on my waste.
Love these, but need a little breaking in. The denim is on the heavier side which makes it hard to reach for them during the summer. Yet the length hits at the ankle. But cute pant.

So cool; so well made and so versatile/ I'm in love. One downside is that the pant does not run consistently true to the size. Same size varies in fit. Not enough to warrant a return, but worth mentioning.
