I have been buying gap khakis for years. They have been my go to for work in hospital social work and psychiatric settings. Timeless look and fabric, little bit of stretch, affordable. Can clean up well but also take a beating. This new iteration is different. The twill is more coarse, more like work pants than chinos, but also thin and stretchy, not crisp. There are more visible seams and that makes them look less refined. The fabric also seems shinier and just looks cheaper. I also found the fit to be slimmer and more stretchy. These just give fast fashion vibes rather than the timeless classic chino look Gap had been reliable for. Instantly returned the pairs i ordered and will be looming elsewhere for my work pants.
