First the good, I love the design of this, it's unique, stylish and flattering, and doesn't ride up! I bought the pink gingham color and I'd say it leans more purple in person, but is very pretty. The sizing is just really, really off, the size chart feels like a joke. I have a 25" waist and 34.5" hips so I would have thought the XS would be fine (size chart gives measurements of 26" and 36"). The waist band is so tight I could hardly get it over my hips and was just too tight when it was on. The skirt part was also too short, pulling awkwardly. Luckily I read reviews first so I also bought the Small, which fits well. I really wish The Gap would do better with their sizing, especially for the items they don't sell in store. This really fits a good 3" smaller in the waist than the size chart states.

I normally but an XXS in bottoms or 00. My waist is 24 inches and I needed to size up to a S! XS was perfect length, bottom coverage etc but the waist fit better and was more comfortable with a S. I'd suggest buying multiple sizes to see what would fit you best

Very cute idea but WAY too small. I order everything in the smallest size as Petite XXS but this swimming skort was too small. I tried on XXS and XS and will exchange it for the small.

The size guide attached to the skirt was for a swim top, really? You also don't give the length of the skirt. Please give more information about your apparel. I buy a lot from Gap, but too often have to return.
