Great tee!
I love this tee because the material is not see through and the sleeves are cut well. They stay nice and close to the arm and do not "flutter" out like most ... do - so you don't get that weird wing look like you do with Banana Republic ... Also, the longer length is so very flattering and I love it! I used to be a devotee to Banana Republic ... but they are too short and too short in the sleeves. It would be nice if the gap tee material was a little bit softer and a tiny bit thicker, but still it is very good.

I own this tee in five different colors. I'm close to six feet tall so these ... work well for me in that they are longer than ... other stores. The fabric is very substantial. So Gap gets and AAA+++ from me on these ...

Great tee
Big fan of Gap's crew neck ... own one in just about every color. True to size and flattering. They're not made to be shapless like some "fashion" ... late (I just don't get that) and hug your curves in all the right places. Perfect layering pieces in the cooler months, but stand alone well too. Even the white tee - not see thru at all with a nude colored bra. The material has a nice weight to it unlike some other ... *ahemoldnavycough*we've all been burned by in the past. Get them when they're on special and you won't regret it.

I've been on a search for a great fitted white tee that I can wear under my button up shirts for work for awhile now. ... button ups are much more fitted than men's and since I sweat more than the average person, I often get sweat stains on the button up. I decided I needed to start wearing fitted ... under my button ups instead of fitted tank tops to help prevent the wetness from coming through and the nasty yellow sweat stains from ruining my expensive button ups. All the fitted white ... before this were too thin and the sleeves didn't fully cover my underarms. This tee however is thick, but not too thick. Just a nice quality cotton you would expect in a tee shirt. The sleeves are also perfect in length. No more sweat stains and ruining my button up shirts!!! I found out they carried these ... petite online so now I'm about to buy 8 more, not just for buttons ups. The different neck lines, sleeve lengths, and colors makes these ... extremely versatile. LOVE!!

I bought three of these ... two years ago. One white, one light grey, one brown, all in small. I was 5'4", 140lbs, size DD bust at the time of buying these ... am now 120lbs and size B bust. Something odd happened with these ... washed them. They all shrunk to different sizes! The grey really didn't shrink much, and since I've lost about 20lbs since purchasing, it is now too big. The white shrank just enough, it fits very nicely and is my ... three. The brown shrunk A LOT and did not fit me after first buying it, but since I have lost weight, it fits me now, but it is on the short side when it comes to length. These tee's really slim the waist area, I've had a baby, and this is my "problem area" and it really does hide it well! Also, since my bust has been both very large and rather small, I can say these shirts flatter both extremes. But the fact that the different sizes shrink to such extremes is a pain!

Buy your tee in the store, not online
I have to say, I went to the Gap in person and bought a few of the ... crewneck ... They are awesome! They are sized well and good material. I ordered the same ... crewneck ... online and was very disappointed! The fit is tighter and the material is thinner and the white was a little dingy looking. Why do they rip you off when your order online?? My suggestion, you will love all of these ... but only if you buy them directly at a Gap store.

Great. Ultimate Tee.
Great tee. I love it. I don't understand the earlier comment about the thinness. It is perfect, not too thin, not too thick. I am planning to get more and I have half a dozen of them in advance for fear that they stop making them right. I am 5"6 and 113 lbs. I buy Size Small, crew neck, V neck, short sleeve and long sleeve in black and navy. I don't like to be squeezed in my ... shirts. The Size Small fits me perfect. They are easy to put on, non constricting and still fitting. They go with practically everything. I use them with pajamas too. The most versatile ... can get. They remain in great shape after wash and dry. Some Gap items may have diminished in quality, like when they use so much polyester and rayon, etc, but the ... well as cotton underwear are items that I will always buy. Please Gap, bring in more cotton things for Spring! Thank you.

Great Tee!
I now own three of these tees - one in white, one in dark brown, and one in navy. They fit great, look new after washing, and are a great layering tee for under sweaters for this coming winter. I also wear these tees as a top layer to exercise class until I'm warmed up at class. I would definitely purchase more of these tees if Gap offered more colors. They are a good value purchase!

Gap Favorites
I have these staple tees in my closet all the time. Summer or winter, you will find several from years ago or new ones. I wish the favorites came in more colors but I order the Soft tees for that. And the sleeve and body length are longer than most tees so they remain your favorites - nice.

THE BEST TEES EVER!
The Essential tees, formerly Favorite tees, are basic pieces in my wardrobe and will remain forever my favorites. They are so comfortable and I'm glad that GAP is now doing some other colors in TALL sizes (keep it up!) The "Vermillion" is a lovely and bright shade of red. You can easily dress the tee up by adding a scarf and/or jewelry and dress it down by just wearing the tee solo. The way that I keep the softness and the shape of the tees is to soak them in COLD water with a little dishsoap overnight, then rinse them thoroughly and hang dripping wet over my towel rack.

These are the best fitting tees. They are not too tight but just right to conform to your body. They do not loose their shape after washings I wear them casual with jeans, skirts and dress them up with a scarf or jewelry often They are also great for layering. I, like many others who have reviewed these ... wish they came in more colors. They are a staple in my closet. I wear petite and find they are true to size. I have all the colors. I also like the length which is a little longer than most ... sleeves are the correct length.

here we go again...
After so many reviewers indicated how happy they were to see higher quality GAP essential tees reappearing last year, I'm sorry to say my fall package of crew tees was a major let down. I just received two of the newer bright colors in my Tall size. The material is -again! - far too thin, the flimsy material shows every promise of stretching completely out of shape within one wear and washing. Plus the bottom hems of the tees are too tightly stitched across with non flexible thread, any time you pull them over your head or readjust the hem over your hips, the hems are at high risk of ripping. I usually buy multiples of these basics in neutrals and brights, but these are going back! They are what I would fairly expect for a lower price point product at Old Navy. But instead I'm shopping at Gap, looking to pay a little more for better quality basics. Please, Gap buyers and designers: can you RE return us to the well constructed tees you presented again about a year ago?

The sizing of these tees this year is so inconsistent. I've always been a small tall and this year they are running so small. I ordered 3 tees this time and two are ok.. a bit big but the third is huge. At least 3 inches bigger width and length.. I've found sizing very inconsistent with all of the GAP tees this year. I hope they figure it out next year. If you look at the different shirts they are from different countries so maybe that's why the inconsistent sizing..

Another I''ll Fitting Basic Tee, No Surprise
I have been buying these basic ... quite sometime but in recent years stopped for the reason being they consistently do not fit they are all around too big. I am going on vacation & figured I will give it one more try and without fail I was again disappointed. I know the Gap, Banana Rep, and Old Navy all do varying sizes. Meaning they make the clothes bigger so larger sizes can go down a size or to and think they are smaller than what they are. That being said being 5' 5.5" and 100 pounds your xs does not fit nor does anything else in your store so the only place to go if I want a Gap product is Gap Kids and I'd rather not. I have no problem wearing an XS in any other brand but the Gap. My recommendation go back to your old block pattern it was an all around great fit. My biggest issuse with these ... length. I personally do not like wearing the length of my tee to the top of my thighs. Oh, one more thing the only thing that did fit was the length of the sleeve!

Too bad they changed these tees
I went to buy a new bunch of the ... tees that I have always loved and recommended. This year GAP really cheaped out and changed their ... Fit tees. The white color (which is the one I buy the most of) is totally see through now and so thin and cut very tight. The medium fit like an XXS. Terrible. I was really bummed that these tees aren't like they used to be last year. They were perfect (length and thickness) Now I don't have a reason to go to the GAP anymore.

I have been buying Gap Favorite Fit tees for years. I just went to my local Gap to buy some more white, long sleeve crewnecks and...Oh My Gosh - they are completely different!!! And not in a good way...They are now super thin and see through and the mediums fit like they were an xtra small - so incredibly tight fitting!! They are terrible and I am really upset because I have been wearing these tees for years as my staple. I wish I bought more of these last year - my tees from last year are absolutely perfect in every way; thickness, length, fit, etc. Not only did I try these new favorite fit tees on at my local Gap, but I also orded two online and they were awful; way too thin, see through, cut too short, and too TIGHT. I also tried on the v necks and they have changed too. The v is cut so deep that cleavage shows and the v is so wide, that it goes to the tip of my shoulders. I felt completely exposed. Needless to say, I didn't buy any of them and the girl working there said she tried them on too and they didn't fit her either (way too tight and thin she said). She said it was their newest shipment and this must be how they are making them now. Too bad, now I have to find a new t shirt brand to go to--one that doesn't skimp on and lower the quality.

I have been buying Gap ... shirts for years. I've noticed in the last year or so the quality of the cotton is very poor. The necks are getting larger on the long sleeve tees. I will not be buying at gap any longer. it used to be my ... store. My ... tees where great, the essential tees were great...no longer...so sad.
