Amazing ... but go a size down
I am a true Gap Jean fan! Over the years I've notice in certain rinses/washes I either have to go up or down a size. In the medium wash tint I'm a size 12 but in the dark washed tints I'm a size 14 HOWEVER the long and lean dark wash totally side swiped me!! When I tried them on they slipped right on, which is a no no for Gap ... They should fit a little snug in the beginning and they loosen up after 3-4 wears, depending on how often and how long I wear them. I called back and made my exchange immediately and my size 12's should be coming tomorrow. FYI - READ THE FABRIC CONTENTS!!! The more Lycra/Spandex the smaller the size you should order, GAP ... DO STRETCH. As far as the length goes I'm 5'11" and 3/4, round up to 6', and the length is perfect for me and the shoes I wear. I don't wear too many heels because my husband is 6'2" and I don't like to tower over him so I've found myself hemming the ... time to time so they won't drag on the floor. Overall the ... hit for me and my lifestyle. I just wish they sold the extra long lengths in the store, I hate waiting for my precious ... Thanks anyway Gap!

BEST ... EVER!
These ... perfect fit! The rise is perfect! The feel is perfect! The look is perfect! I cannot believe they would be discontinued by GAP. You would think if the people in charge were in touch with the customer base they would listen to how much LOVE these ... getting. I'm all for a skinny jean, but sometimes you want to look casually sexy. These ... make you look like you don't have to try! like you are some kind of effortless goddess who always looks great. GAP would definitely loose A LOT of love from me if they were discontinued permanently and didn't come up with an even better replacement (like magic butt ... something) KEEP THE ...

I worked at Gap as a second job a few years back and tried on all of their ... fell in LOVE with the Long and Leans and they are all I have worn since. I introduced the style to my friends and they all started wearing them as well. The long and lean jean is the only jean fit out there that works for my body type. I wear a size 0-2 in this style (2-4 in ... elsewhere) most people would think it is easy to find ... size but I have tiny waist and athletic legs and nothing seems to fit as well as the long and leans. I even tried on $300 pairs of ... San Francisco and was happy putting back on my Long and leans. I bought 3 pair online when I found out they were d/cing the style and it looks like they have refreshed their online stock so I may have to make another order. Please reconsider Gap. Long and Leans bring me into the store. W/O them I will not be traveling to the next town to go to Gap anymore.

Not the Same Long and Lean
I love the look of the long and lean ... very flattering.. I wear an 16L and was very disappointed when I received my ... found that they had changed the material. The denim is thin and seems cheap. The first pair I ordered 6 months ago there was a flaw with the zipper and they had to be returned within two weeks of purchase. The replacement pair is now in the trash. The material was so thin that they wore out in the inner thigh area. For [$] I would expect my ... last a few years like my old long and lean have. Three years ago I purchased a pair, made of the thicker material, which I can still wear today. The ... also stretch out very easily. As previously mentioned by the others the Dark wash seem to run smaller then the Medium tent (I purchased a pair of each at the same time). I am not sure GAP's thinking behind making these ... such a thin material. Though I love these ... cannot constitute spending this much money on a pair of ... know won't be a staple in my closet in one year. Sorry GAP but you need to switch back to the old fabric, before I will buy another pair of Long n Lean from you. I gave them Three Stars because the cut is still a great jean but not worth the price.

Not Impressed
I used to LOVE the long and lean ... Essential. The Essential has been discontinued and I have no idea why. This was the best fitting ... have ever had from anywhere. Gap, please bring them back!! I also love (loved) the long and lean. I bought them this time and am extremely disappointed. They fit great at the store. I tried on 1 pair of 12R and bought that pair plus one more. When I got home, the size 12R that I did not try on at the store was like 2 sizes too big!! What's up with that?? Also, after wearing these ... hour or so, they stretch out way too much. I have to keep pulling them up everytime I move. It's frustrating because after you have washed them you can't return them. So now I am stuck with ... don't fit. I love a little stretch but this is WAY too much. I don't even feel comfortable in the after an hour. The price is not bad considering the price of other ... out there, but then it is way too much to spend for such a cheaply made jean. I have always bought Gap ... price and the quality and the awesome fit. But not anymore. I don't trust them enough to buy another pair and that makes me sad.

Awful, paper thin fabric - baggy butt by lunchtime!
Awful fabric. Super thin. Looses shape after a few hours. I need a belt by lunchtime to keep my "droopy drawers" from falling off. Old Gap ... material was amazing - sturdy, kept their beautiful shape. These new puppies only last a few hours, then you have to wash them and dry them on high heat to remove "droopy drawer symdrome". Just awful. I am 6'4" tall and size 12, and the Gap is the only place that sells women's 37" inch inseams and I would have gladly paid twice the price. But the material is so awful that after 2 months I had to throw them in the trash and I have now been wearing unflattering men's ... out of necessity. So sad.
