If you used to love the Long and Leans...
These are the jeans for you if you used to love the Long & Leans. I am 5'9" 142 lbs with a 33 1/2 inch inseam. I originally ordered an 8 Long and returned them for a 6 Long, which fit perfect (I could go on and on about the vanity sizing at the Gap, but since it's working in my favor, I'll shut up). I can wear these with a nice high heel and they are still long enough. The color is dark and gives the jeans a little bit of a dressy feel. Also, I love the double button on them. I don't know why, but it is just an extra added detail that makes these jeans stand out in my closet. The boot cut isn't too "boot", if you know what I mean. It's enough to fit a boot under them without flaring out.

The best gap ... ever (for petites)
I love these ... They are so versatile. I really like the mid rise/two button fit. i don't like the low rise sexy boot as much because on a petite it makes your legs look shorter. This jean makes your legs look long for a petite and they are so flattering. I ddin't find the whiskering overdone like one of the reviewers that almost convinced me not to buy these (i hate exaggerated whiskering). The whiskering was very subtle. They also loosened up the thighs since their previous version of this 2-button mid rise boot cut jean--no more sausage effect. I love everything about the fit, the width of the opening, the fit of the hips/thighs & the rise. They are the most flattering jean ever for someone who is 5 ft tall. I do notice the jean material is thinner & thus cheaper looking up close. Please don't change these jeans--they are great. I am mostly a between a 00 and a 0, but I ordered a 0p because I think these ... run a tiny bit small after they are washed & dried. After washing/drying they fit perfectly, especially in the length. I always need a little dryer shrinkage to get ... fit in the length and these came out perfectly. For a 5 foot woman you do need to wear 2-2.5 inch heels or boots, but that's how i like to wear my ... anyway. I will buy a couple more pairs.

One more perfect pair
These jeans are the latest in a long line of Gap jeans that make me very happy. I struggled for years to find jeans that fit my curvy, small waisted body and then happened upon a pair of Gap jeans in a thrift store. There was no going back - I am a Gap customer for life. :) The only thing I don't like about these perfect boot cut jeans is that the leg is more flared than I thought it would be...my last pair of boot cut was quite a bit narrower and more flattering to the curvy body shape. But it is a small price to pay for jeans whose fit is absolutely beautiful!

Pleasantly surprised
I recently bought a pair of dark wash Perfect boot cut; I have bought the long and lean in the past and wished the leg was more bootcut than "flare". So I decided to try the Perfect Boot. I'm around 5"7 and bought a 6 reg. and they were a little longer than expected; I wanted to wear them mostly w/ flats and low heel. Other than being a little snug in the thighs, I really like the fit. They are soooo comfortable and don't stretch out of shape after wearing them. [...]The only improvement comment would be to make the thigh area a little more relaxed. Thanks Gap!!

I Like these ... just wish they were thicker.
I Like the perfect boot cut. And the long and lean. I have both. The color does not wash out. I've had these since August. The only thing I don't like about the perfect boot cut and the long and lean is the material is SO thin that on a cold day you will feel how cold it is. And after you sit in them for a little while, the seat sags.

great fit and oh so comfortable
I love the new ... Although the perfect boot ... nice, the sexy ... really hugs the curves so much better for me. The stretch makes them as comfortable as wearing pajamas, even when they're tight.

My New Favorite ...
I've always been a fan of GAP ... but these are definitely my new favorite. The last few years I've worn the Long and Lean. I tried on a pair of the Perfect Boot and Long and Lean and I immediately put the Long and Lean aside. PROS:I'm 5'9" and about 165 pounds (especially around the middle) and these ... fit really well right off the rack. The wide waistband is flattering and not too low (you won't have to tug up your ... hug my butt and thighs but are not too tight. The length is LONG. Even with my height and 2 1/2 inch heels the hem slightly dragged the floor (before washing). Not complaining though because it's hard to find a true long length (Old Navy "longs" are about 4-5 inches shorter). The fabric is soft and stretchy, but not too stretchy. CONS: As another reader mentioned, these ... eventually shred on the inner thigh. I've had it happen before with the Long and Leans and it's because the fabric is thinner (hence softer). Also, I don't feel this is a true "boot cut". It's still a little wide - closer to a flare cut.

Misleading about the rise
I bought my first pair of PERFECT BOOT (size 4)about a year ago. I fell in love with the cut--everything the Long & Lean offered (nice cut, leg lengthening, hip & butt flattering) but way sexier. For my second purchase (size 2) I was disappointed to learn they no longer make the very dark rinse I bought (like Indigo rinse in Sexy boot), nonetheless I settled for the darkest available rinse. In the store I thought the rise seemed short, so I tried on more than one to no avail. When I got home I tried on both my old pair and my new pair. There was definitely a difference in the rise (and therefore where the pockets sat on the butt). I have a longer torso and always prefer mid rise (no bulges). I have a pair of Modern boot pants(low rise pants) that sit at the same level or higher than these supposed mid rise jeans! These jeans have a nice cut, but are definitely not a mid rise!

Not so perfect
These were extremely tight and had a much lower rise than expected. They did not flatter at all. They were much more defined in the knee and looked more like bell bottoms...not what I would call boot cut, not even close. The color and quality was impressive, Gap has always had wonderful quality. But Gap pants have never fit me, much like [...]. I like semi loose fitting clothes and I like a boot cut pant, not bell or wide at the cuff. I really don't like high waist pants but I also don't want anything hanging out when I sit or bend. These were in no way perfect on me. [...] I made an exception because of the reviews, but I think I knew better.

Just "OK"
I was hoping that this denim would have a more nicer, expensive look being that they were the dark wash color. They're ok...a little more thick or heavier denim fabric than I thought they would be. I'm 5'2", 120lbs and the size 2 ankle fit. The boot cut is on the wider side and for being short, I think this cut makes me look shorter. The Sexy Boot Cut jeans are slimmer and more flattering I think.

I don't normally buy gap ... because I think they are over priced for what you get. I caught these ... cuts on sale & really really like them. They fit great & I would definately purchase another pair even at regular price!

Still a nice jean
These light wash ... run a bit bigger than their counter part the dark rinse. The waist seemed to fit the same so I stayed with my regular size 10T, although I could possibly go down to a size 8T. Try two sizes and see which ones fit the best, but overall the Perfect ... jean is one of the best ... I've come across, being tall and needing a higher rise.

My new favorite ...
I LOVE these ... They are comfortable, fit great, and have the perfect amount of stretch (not much). The rise is truly mid...not too low or too high, and the ... cut is moderate...not super flared like some other ... cuts. The lighter wash is a nice change from all of my dark ... If you are a tall and somewhat curvy, try these jeans...they're fabulous!

Length is off a bit
I tried on a regular and the length was so extremely long it would have never worked with sneakers. So I had to order petite and now the length is barely long enough to cover my sneakers. There is like a 3 inch difference in length between regular and petite, which I thought was a bit drastic! So while they fit great everywhere else, I could never wear them with my boots. Which is a shame because they are ...

Disappointed
I purchased the same size and length in both this color and the dark. The dark fit and retained their shape. These stretched out in the waist and sagged in the rear. They ended up looking like mom ... after an hour. Another thing I didn't like is that the ... cut does not increase proportionate to the jean size. On the model, the ... really look like ... cut but when I purchased my size, size 6, they fit more like a straight leg or skinny jean. On the upside I'm 5'3 and I am able to wear flats with the Ankle length which is not typically the case with Gap ... Based on my experience, I would not purchase this color again.

Too Big - sizing is inaccurate
I bought my usual Gap jean size - 2P - and I can pull the waist away from my body a full 3 inches, (my waist is 25", my hips 35"). Also the length is 2" longer than another pair of "perfect ... bought last year. I HIGHLY recommend that you order two pairs, one smaller than your usual. Overall, I like this color wash, but these ... were not designed quite as flattering as my old ones.

Not true to size at all!!!
I ordered the Perfect ... replace my long loved "long and leans", however the size I bought for long and leans is not the same as the size I need for the perfect ... disappointed to say the least, when I was excited to try a new cut of ... couldn't even get them buttoned. I like the wash color and the length and the overall appearance of them, just wish they would have more continuity in their sizes. I also think it was a huge mistake on Gap's part to discontinue the long and leans, forcing people to wear something they don't feel good in.

These are more "flare" than ... cut"
The ... fit great and are comfortable. The reason I gave only three stars is that the ... cut" is way more of a flare than I like. Maybe that was supposed to be implied in the fact that they are called 1969? I usually love ... cut ... though this is my first experience with Gap. I do not love the fact that the bottoms of these ... actually rub/flap together when I walk because the cuffs are cut so big. I'm still keeping them because they are a good fit and comfy, but ... cut" these aren't.

... not sized correctly!
I ordered this pair of ... well as a pair of skinny ... both in 00R. The ... jean was way too loose in the waist. It felt like a size 2!! I agree with other reviews that the sizing is inconsistent in Gap ... also did not like that the pockets in the back are so big. They made my rear end look big! I returned both pairs of ...

No GAP ... fit me anymore!
I tried on almost every pair of GAP ... store. I'm not into the skinny jean look, so I tried all the ... styles. I'm 5'2", 103 pounds and the size 2 ankle ... big in the waist, but so short in the crotch, it's ridiculous. I am not a tall person so I am wondering if these ... actually fit anyone? They actually looked good, but were so uncomfortable I couldn't stand it! I used to love GAP ... but have no idea what body type they are making them for?!
