Best cami ever.
I initially bought these camis during the second trimester while pregnant with my fourth child. I loved the feeling of extra support and the shaping and smoothing effect I got from the cami. The shelf ... worn over my regular ... helped me feel less overblown and more work appropriate, and made me feel less like I was bursting out all over the place. However, I am someone who wears a shelf ... cami to bed and likes the 'compression' feel. By the end of my pregnancy, I never left home without one of these camis under my clothes. After my son was born, I found I could still wear the camis to bed and they offered enough support that I did not feel uncomfortable from the added weight of my chest. (DD + ). When I started back to work and took the baby with me, I found that these camis helped me be discreet at work. Worn over a nursing ... would just pull the cami under my ... cup on one side and release the ... cup; my entire back would still be covered by the cami, even if my shirt slid up or around. My son is now 15 months old and I have sized down progressively from the size L to a small. I have tried to find other compression/support ... through Gap and several other stores, but none are as good as these. I love that the material is not shiny or slick or slippery. They wash up fine although do pick up lint. I've put every one in the washer and dryer and not had any issues other than the lint. I find that I feel really exposed now if I'm not wearing one of these under everything, even now. It really pulls everything in, and helps shape and control my still large nursing chest. I'm getting ready to size down now to an XS as I really like the supportive/compressive feel and wear these as a base layer with everything. I'm 5'7, 155 lbs, and still a D+ cup due to nursing. I imagine I'll be buying these for years to come because I love them so much. My only dislike is that they are a bit long for me now that I'm not pregnant, but I just tuck them in, or could hem them. Great product!

Just what I needed!
I couldn't live without this! I just wanted a plain cami with a shelf ... all I could ever find were ... tops, not ... want several in every color!

#1 Must Have
If I could only buy one kind maternity item it would be the support cami. I have 3, and plan on getting 3 more in the XL size for my 3rd trimester. I was a 36D before pregnancy and now I am not even sure WHAT ... size I am. I bought a 38DD and it was too tight around my chest at only 19 weeks. Not knowing how much more I might "expand", I opted for these camis with the built in shelf ... (size L) and what a life saver. I wear them day and night. They give a nice, smooth look under the rather thin material that most Gap/Old Navy maternity clothes are made from these days, and also give enough support without being uncomfortable or restrictive for sore, tender chests, especially at night.

When I received this camisole in the mail it looked far too short, but once I pulled it on it was exactly the right length -- long enough to cover my belly, and stayed in place. It's a good under layer. I'm not sure the shelf ... offers enough coverage to go without a ... entirely if the camisole is worn under a tight fitting shirt, but under a sweater it's fine.

Overall - a highly versatile cami
I am 5'2" 120 pre -preg - I first tried this shirt in a S - my regular shirt size, and I could barely get it on - and then couldn't breathe once I succeeded. I tried a M next, and it was much better, though still a bit snug. The shelf ... come in handy in the summer months, as I can't fit a regular ... underneath it. A good shirt to wear underneath other lower neck lined shirts that show too much cleavage, or see through ...

Order up in size
This tank top looked fine, but was way too short and too tight. If you want a tank top with a shelf ... then consider this, but order at least one to two sizes up. I returned and exchanged it for the pure body ... which was softer, more comfortable and true to size.

Completely transparent
This ... top in white is completely transparent. Even with the double layers the shelf ... provides, you could still see my areolas! I am very fair skinned, so I can't imagine what someone with darker skin would look like. Every freckle and mark on my belly was visible through the fabric. Don't purchase this unless you are planning on wearing strictly it as an undershirt.

Ah Mazing!! Gap, please bring these back ASAP!!
These camis are AH MAZING! They are the perfect fit and the material is thicker than most camis which I love! The shelf bra is much more supportive than most camis - I love it! They are a little longer too than most, which is great for layering! I wear one every day! (along with the stretch cotton low rise hipster panties!!) GAP, please bring these back in EVERY COLOR!!! I will order 30 of them!

I wear these all winter under sweaters and long sleeve shirts instead of a bra, and I've even worn them for yoga class. I'm 36A/B and medium fits well. elastic is really good quality and holds up for a long time. Cotton gets softer over time. I hope they never change these. Even the shaping is decent for a shelf bra. Just wish it came in gray!

Great cami!
I've been wearing shelf bra camis for many years and unfortunately, often have to switch retailers when they 'improve' the cami. I haven't been able to wear the Gap camis for awhile now but decided to try again and I really like this version. I normally wear a small in Gap tops but I decided to size up after reading some of the reviews and the med is working great for me. I am a 36C bra size. I only wish it came in more colors!

Awesome - FINALLY!
Okay, I have been searching high and low for a product like this for years...and never could find it. These ... AWESOME! Now...I don't have to wear a bra AND a tank top (so annoying) ...I get it all in 1! What's great is that the length is good ...it almost covers your hiney and its got a slight tightness to it so the tank stays in place. And...it has a slight V neck...this is what i could never find. I didn't want to look like I was wearing a Bra ...but needed a tank and didn't want that rounded neck. These are so cute - fit snug to your body and look fabulous layered under all these flowy shirts and things that fall off the shoulder. I found these in the store today by chance (they were sitting low on a shelf and I screamed because I couldn't believe my eyes!) I am ordering 2 more of white and black since I will be wearing these daily...and am even getting my sister 2 for Christmas - she has been looking for the same ... no avail. GAP - please make more colors! would love a grey (light and dark) and even a navy...LOVE LOVE these - Thank you!

I wear these under my scrubs to work. The support is adequate for me - but I am small chested. I am a 34A and I find the elastic on the small to be just a tiny bit tighter than I would like, but the rest of the tank fits me perfectly. The white ones I own have held up well to many wears and washes. The nude colored fabric seemed thinner from the beginning, has pilled some, and isn't really holding its shape anymore. This happened after being worn ~2x a week for 3 months. From now on, I'll be sticking to just the white.

Perfect for home:)
I am a stay at-home mom and purchased this in both the nude and black as a layer to wear under shirts and sweaters. I'm not always in the mood to wear a bra and this is a nice alternative. Having said that, I would still need a bra if I were to leave the house as it only has a shelf bra insert. Overall, a nice layering piece.

love this tank
I love this tank! I have a larger bust, so I almost always wear tank bras underneath my work shirts. This one is a little longer, which I love! The only downside is the chest area could be a little higher because I have to pull it up a lot during the day...but other then that, extremely comfortable and happy! Definitely going to buy more!

Nothing special
I was hoping that this tank would be a go to item that slims the belly but I found that the control element of the tank to be weak. The cami didn't do a better job of smoothing than camis I already have; so this is going back.

Way small
I am consistently an XS in Gap tops and ordered this in S due to the reviews. It was still way too tight, especially in the chest area - and my chest is small! I was also hoping that it could be worn without a bra. While it does have good support the material is too thin for me, I get too much "poke through" (if you get my meaning). I tried it on underneath the Gap boyfriend sweater. I would still have to wear a bra underneath. For this reason, I would not buy this style.

Shelf bra band way too tight
I was really looking forward to this cami as something to sleep in. I lit up when I saw the neckline. The shirt fits true to size well enough, I like the long length and it smooths out your shape. HOWEVER, the band for the shelf bra is way too tight. I should fit the medium and it was unbearable. I also ordered the large having read other reviews and although it seemed to fit, after five minutes I couldn't stand how the band was gripping me. It was not comfortable enough to sleep in and marginal for day wear. An XL would just be too big, so I'm giving up on the cami.

Elastic too tigght
Just like other reviewers said, the elastic in the shelf bra is too tight. I even ordered a size up and it was still tight. I made cuts in the sides and now it is better. I like my Old navy one better for [$].
