Great, cute under sweaters
I bought this because the scoop neck looks cute under sweaters and it didn't disappoint. I am 6'0", about 140 lb, and the tall medium fits great. This tee is not as long as the favorite tee, which disappoints me a little, but it is still long enough to be comfortable and not worry about showing skin. I bought a few different colors and they are all cute. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the white color is NOT sheer like white ... shirts can sometimes be.

Love this tee! I came back to buy more, but I wish there were more colors. The fabric is thicker than ON and fits so nicely. Love, love, love it!

This is a gorgeous basic tee. I purchased this in the black, in a size Medium. I ordered a size smaller than my usual size, because that's what I've had to do in the past with GAP ... like this, and it fits very well. The material isn't too thin, it's soft and comfy, and the neckline is very flattering (I'm a bigger girl with a big bust). The sleeve length is perfect; not too short, especially if you want to hide some upper arm. The overall length is great, and it has yet to stretch out for me, unlike the v neck alternative. Very happy with it- I wish I had ordered more! :-)

my new favorite shirt
I'm going to order a few more of these ... scoop neck is super flattering for me--I am athletic with broad shoulders and a full bust. I ordered an XS, and the tee is properly fitted without looking stretched or saggy anywhere. I thought I would prefer the v neck neckline, but the scoop neck is great. With a sweater or blazer over it, perfect for work. On its own, cute and casual. The shirt is a little long on me, as most are since I am 5'2, but the length actually makes this shirt more versatile as far as tucking it in or leaving it untucked. It doesn't ride up if I tuck it in.

Love love love
Can wear casual, or pull it down just a bit and wear with heels for date night with hubby. This top is amazing and sexy- love so much. Gap PLEASE come out with more colors on scoop neck. Favorite tee material is highly superior to essential tee. The reviews on both speak for themselves!

PERFECT tee!
This is a great top. I am 5'1", curvy, athletic build, and ... bought this in a MEDIUM ... top isn't too low or too high, it's the perfect scoop - perfect for big chunky necklaces... Great under a cardigan or suit jacket for work. Or, perfect by itself with jeans. A must have to your wardrobe.

I have 5 of these....
I am 5'11 and a size 12. These are super flattering. I have 3 of the white and 2 of the black. I am large chested and it fits beautifully. Even if you have less bosoms, please consider getting it. I wager it fits most body types...dont you want that perfect minimalist white tee for the summer?...

Awesome Tee!
I love love love this tee shirt! I am a size 18 and a DD bust and most ... big enough in chest fit like a tent around my mid section. This tee is slimming but not clingy. The Essentials Scoopneck tee is well made with just the right material thickness. I also love that this tee is longer than most. It just falls at the hips. I love this tee so much that I have ordered 4 more. Thanks GAP for making this Tee!

Perfect Tee!
I have been looking for a scoop neck tee for a while and have purchased many, but they all start twisting or wearing out after a while. This one is perfect! The fabric is a little thicker so it doesn't twist and wear out and it's not too thin so that it's see through. Looks great by itself or perfect under a blazer. I ordered two!

nice fitting tee
Great updated fit ... shirt--not to tight and not loose. I usually wear size 6 in tops but I'm short (5'3") and I bought ... medium and it fits great. I like the longer fit for a ... shirt and this is exactly that perfect length.

perfect tee shirt
Love these tee shirts. They look great even in a pinch dressed up w/ a nice pair of wool pants. Not just for jeans & total casual. Had to exchange a ... small for regular. I am normally a ... 0 in pants but in these tee shirts I need a regular small (5'3', fit 110lbs) These shirts are an attractive slim fit, not tight, but slim. Nice & soft.

Best Tee
I've been on a search for a great fitted white tee that I can wear under my button up shirts for work for awhile now. Women's button ups are much more fitted than men's and since I sweat more than the average person, I often get sweat stains on the button up. I decided I needed to start wearing fitted ... under my button ups instead of fitted tank tops to help prevent the wetness from coming through and the nasty yellow sweat stains from ruining my expensive button ups. All the fitted white ... before this were too thin and the sleeves didn't fully cover my underarms. This tee however is thick, but not too thick. Just a nice quality cotton you would expect in a tee shirt. The sleeves are also perfect in length. No more sweat stains and ruining my button up shirts!!! I found out they carried these favorite ... online so now I'm about to buy 8 more, not just for buttons ups. The different neck lines, sleeve lengths, and colors makes these favorite ... extremely versatile. LOVE!!

My New "Perfect Tee"
I love this tee shirt. I have been buying a different company's perfect tee for a long time, I am a convert. I love the soft yet substantial fabric. The fact that I can get it in tall is great. I have a long torso, and often end up pulling my tee shirts down to make sure I am covered. With this shirt, I know my torso is covered! Being a teacher, it would be inappropriate to have my 'skin' show. This tee shirt is made of fabric that looks nice enough to wear on many occasions. I love it and bought it in all colors.Thanks Gap.

Love these shirts!!
I have do not have a long upper body, so the tee shirts that I had been finding were way too long on me. I saw these and ordered a few in ... now I couldn't be happier.And they are not too sheer either- which is a huge plus because it seems like just about everything is going that direction. Wish they more a few more colors to choose from. I bought the gray, black, navy and bright pink because that was all they had left in my size by the time I found these.

Favorite crewneck
I recently purchased the favorite in short and long sleeve styles. I have to say that I'm glad I did! I'm 5'3 and 128 lbs and the small regular fits perfectly. These tops are a bit longer than others, however, they are not tunic length as some reviews state. They hit at about 3 to 4 inches past my waist which is just fine with me. The T's are not thin and cheap at all, quite the oppisite I found. I have 2 white short sleeve, and white, black and charcoal in long sleeve. The white I received is not at all see through. I decided to write this review and include all of the things that were missing in other reviews when I decided to give these a try. I'm glad I didn't order a ... length based on the reviews. The short sleeve style has what I would call a small cap sleeve, which is different than the favorites of years ago, and the reason I gave it 4 stars. A great Tee overall that I would surely recommend!

Length Is Way Too Long
I have been buying the Fav ... many years. The ... usually fit me perfectly. However the current ... have been way too long (I'm 5'2), bunching from the waist down to beyond my hips making me look lumpy. I thought the ... tee would be shorter with a better fit, but the ... tee was only slightly shorter and a little too snug overall. Really wanted to like it, but will be returning all of them.

unimpressive service
Three stars based on the ordering fiasco; I ordered a charcoal tee and light gray was shipped in error. I contacted customer service and a very helpful woman asisted me BUT the second shipped ... also the wrong color. I am keeping it as I don't want to bother with exchanging another ... itself is great; just wish the sleeves were longer than on regular sized ...

Why so long?
Nice tee in color and shape. Texture is good and feel is soft, but not as nicely woven as Gap ... past. I bought a Large ... size so it would be looser across the chest, but it's really long...beyond low hip long. For the sale price and my casual use, it isn't worth returning. I'm tempted to cut off the bottom and tuck it in a bit more, but I dread the curl up and having to hem it. Overall, a decent tee. Probably better if you've a longer torso.

Horribly tight!
I always wear a Small size in Gap clothes. So when I bought this basic Tee in 2 colors, I was totally disppointed to find that the ... Small was way too tight around the chest and arms. Impossible to wear and I have to give them away. I must mention though that the fabric quality is pretty good - not thin like may ... these days.

Best T shirt
Since the Favorite ... come in petite, I have finally found my perfect t shirt. The t shirt is the perfect thickness, not sheer. Usually, v necks are too low cut on me; I am 5'1" and ... am tempted to buy one in every color. I wish the tee came in some bright colors for the season.

Nice tee!
This tee is a nice heavyweight cotton and it keeps it's shape. I'm ... would have liked to be able to get the shirt in XXS but the XS still fits well. A great tee to wear with just about anything!

Love the V neck tee
Soft, non clingy tee that has just the right amount of V at the neckline. Wish that I had bought more. The tee holds up well in the washer and dryer. Love the sleeve and body length.

Fantastic
I bought two in Black and Orange in an XS (5'3", 100lbs, 32C) only because the price was nearly cut in half when you factor in the discount code at the time. I was hoping the neck would be a little higher like in the picture and it was! I HATE super low v necks now that I'm in my mid 20s. I did order this in the regular size because I also hate short shirts. If you're on the taller side of ... regular should fit you fine. The orange was a little too much like a clementine so it went back, before I even opened it. The black did wash well, though it has only been washed once. I tried it on after the dryer (always set to low) and it still fits fine. I also want to add that I read a lot of reviews about it being "too thin!" but I think it's the perfect weight. It's not really thin and tissue like like ON ... but it's not that thick, heavy cotton like the hefty ... get free from charity events, runs, school, etc. It's a nice, every day tee that is thick enough to not show straps incredibly well, but also thin enough to wear under a sweater w/o looking bulky. I have since ordered it in the remaining colors. Hopefully this was "straight and to the point" enough. haha

Favorite Tee IS Essential Tee
I posted a review a few days ago on buying the black an orange, then coming back to buy the others. In case it didn't take, in short, I'm 5'3", 100 lbs, and a 32C and bought the XSR. I sent the orange back because it was literally clementine color. I love that these are all longer (regular fit or not, regulars are often still too short) and that the V isn't super low. I hate having my chest pop out of a tee shirt. One thing I noticed in the reviews from others wae that they were upset that they were sent the "Essential Tee." Both of the ones in the first order said Essential Tee but in the second order, two said Essential Tee, two said Favorite Tee, all fit EXACTLY THE SAME! It's literally the exact same tee shirt. And the shirt is amazing. I will agree that the white is a little loosely woven so it is fairly easy to see through but I have various tan/nude bras so one will do well enough, or a cardigan will go over it nicely. All of the colors (purple and blue included) are great. If you're very fair and very golden toned, I'd pass on the orange though.

Just Okay..
This tee shirt was a little big, I can never figure out if I am a small or an extra small in gap shirts these days, the sizing seems off to me. I kept the tee only because I needed a new white tee shirt. I probably will shop around next time I am in the market for a new shirt.

Didn''t hide my mommy gut.
Nice tee! But, it was to tight for my gut. I have 3 babies and a mom pooch I'm trying to hide. This tee was recomended by a friend as a loose tee, but it didn't work for me.

Nice casual tee
I got the shirt in L ... am a 34D. It fits much like the BR V neck tee, but it was 2 inches longer to start with (I liked the shorter length of BR shirt), but shrunk in the wash by ~1 inch, so at least I did not have to have it re hemmed. I think, it is a great value for the money. The fabric is not as good as the BR V neck, but it is as good as Splendid basic shirt. So, not bad overall. The cut is flattering, though I found the neckline to be a little too low (open) for my taste.

slightly see through
I ordered this in the hopes of replacing my favorite Gap white tee from a couple of seasons ago - however this didnt fit hte bill - not quite thin enough to layer a tank under it, but you could still see a nude bra underneeth the tee.

I buy this tee every year and the fabric gets thinner and thinner. The petites are still long, but ... medium is shorter than a regular small. I would pay more if the Gap would make these in a heavier cotton so the white is not so sheer.
