I have the factory store version of these. They are pretty much the same, except in the factory store you can buy them in store instead of having to order online. Very soft and comfortable. Thicker waistband prevents ... riding down. I fit a medium in other bottoms for Gap (such as thicker knit pants, or lounge/sleepwear), but I bought a whole bunch of these in large instead. The reason for the shine is that the spandex is working a little too hard. The shine you see is just what happens when the spandex in the fabric is stretched too much. Buy an appropiate size and you will have no shine issues. I wear mine all the time, casual with oversized sweaters and shirts, dressed down with sweatshirts, or dressed up with a long blouse or tunic. No problems with pilling for me at all. Obviously, with any black items, using detergent which is formulated specifically for darks will help keep the ... perfect black for a long time.

These modal/stretch ... great basic. As a fabric developer, I know a lot about knits, so I wasn't surprised by the soft nature of these ... Modal is a type of viscose so it tends to "lean out' making the fabric appear more sheer. (It's why modal ... more drapey than cotton) Also the clear spandex used can look a little shiny when stretched on the ... being said, they are a great layering ... but would not look good unless your bum is covered!! If you're looking for a ... wear with shorter tops, go for a 90/10 cttn/spandex or a cttn/modal/spandex blend. They will have a more powerful stretch and look more opaque. Hope this helps!!

Stretch Knit ...
These ... were okay - just plain ... Not the high quality I expect from GAP. They were shiny, contrary to the description. Had a very high rise and came up to my waist. Were very sheer and would not work for colder weather. I am looking for ... bit thicker and of higher quality. Returned them.
