Great ... my very thin ...
These ... not only fit her well, but they are more durable than any others I have tried. My daughter is constantly wearing holes into the knees of her ... although any jean will eventually wear out, these have lasted MUCH longer than other brand. Because my daughter is on the thin side, she is difficult to fit. These ... fit her perfectly.

Love them!
These are just like the women's 1969 skinny ... terms of quality and fit. I bought the size 14R (I'm 5'1", 98 lbs, 24" waist, 33" hips, 27" inseam). I've owned a pair of 1969 women's skinny ... 00P since they first hit the shelves, but this kids pair fits much better. The women's pair fits well in every way except inseam (much too long; wear cuffed) when it comes out of the dryer but as the day goes on they become a little too loose in the waist and baggy in the legs so that they fit more like a straight leg. Sometimes kids sizing and styles just do not work for an adult, but these are stylish, comfy, and best of all fit right out of the package. I may have to hem the bottom, though, if they don't shrink a bit in the wash. These actually fit so good as is, I'm a little afraid that if I wash them they will shrink and be too tight. Love that 1969 has a kids line! I'm eying the kids ponte pant now, and hope Gap will come out with a "fitted" straight leg or just skinny (not super skinny) that is between their current super skinny and their current straight leg (which looks way too baggy, more like a boyfriend jean cut).

Perfect Plus Size for Girls!
My little ... almost 7 years, and is very chubby around the middle so after buying ... returning ... every store in our town, I went online and ordered the plus size 7 ... her. They were absolutely perfect! The fit was incredible, enough room in her waist and with the adjustable buttons on the inside of the waist, we can make them comfortable for her. Thanks GAP for making plus sizes!

wide waist
I don't have "big" girls so I have to get skinny ... waist is still waaay to big for my 4 1/2 yr old, they fit my 7 yr. old great. She is just 7 and I got her a 7 slim and still have to pull them in a bit otherwise they hurt her waist if I take in to much. These are the only GAP ... she can wear. To bad the ... we ordered were not the ... we got. Totally different style, the stiching looked more dark wash than the saturated wash we ordered will have to check to see if it was a mistake but the store said no...hmm.

Closest to true skinny jean
These run closest to a true skinny ... my daughter. She is really thin (I'm talking 0 percentile here) but the slims actually look like skinny ... her. I had problems finding skinny ... her that didn't run baggy, even in some of Gap's other washes for super skinny (grey and purple). These were best. Waist was still a little roomy. Recommended for anyone with a thin kid looking for a true skinny fit.

I wrote a review earlier but forgot to mention that GAP skinny ... general are hands down the BEST skinny ... your skinny ... these are the ONLY ... my daughter can wear. As for my youngest, I guess it's jeggings for her because nothing is skinny enough for her. lucky ...

Little loose
I bought these pants in a size 12 slim for my 12 year old SUPER slim daughter (12 yr, 4ft 10, 77lbs) and they are a little too loose in the butt and waist. I always have trouble finding ... fit her properly( most 12 slims are WAY too baggy) , and these came close, but just fell short. But overall, she says that they are comfortable, and easy to get on. This is a staple for all girls wardrobes , this might be a little loose for super skinny girls.

So, so cute
after reading the reviews I ordered a 7 regular when I normally order a 7 slim. I was disappointed to find that they were too loose for my daughter. I exchanged them for the 7 slim and they were too tight to the point of the button popping open when my daughter bent down. I was set to return them too but then the next day we were desperate for a clean pair of ... had no other choice. My daughter wore the ... short while they stretched to a perfect fit, not too tight at all and they are her FAVORITE ... they really look so cute and I am ordering another pair! Gap is the only place I shop for my 3 girls ... they are the only ones who can offer a ... do not have to cinch the waistband-- last I checked....the elastic waistband on denim was for a toddler and does not look good on bigger kids!

Gap ... fit my 4 year old ... great! Love the flap pockets in back! good length and not too big in the waist or crotch. I just wish GAP made more colors and styles in girls bootcut ...

Favorite ...
This is the 3rd year I have bought these ... my girls. They are by far our most favorite style and fit plus they are durable! My girls are 8 and 9 and each wear one size down from their age (so size 7 and 8 respectively) but both are on the small size. Some of our ... have been through 3 girls and have still do not have holes in the knees but are beginning to look quite "worn". I buy my oldest daughter 3 pair at the beginning of each school year and pass hers on to her younger sister. I feel that they are still in good enough condition for her to start the school year. I hope GAP carries this style of ... long time to come!!

Too tight for little girls
I bought the same size for my daughter that I buy her in other ... these were way too tight. She could hardly pull them up. Might try next size up, but they will probably be too long.

agreed -new cut smaller
I completely agree with the last reviewer -the cut on the two specific pairs I just bought are smaller than the pair I purchased a year ago -with a size up. My daughter is very thin and I always order slim but the size up was skin tight. I hope this doesn't continue with gap sizing down, my daughter and other girls don't need a complex. They are also very long..

Great buy
The ... perfect for thin girls. They fit perfectly, so you don't need to pull the bands that normally are inside ... which make them stay up but are uncomfortable.

Great ... Skinny and tall kids
I bought these ... my son. I did not know they were for girls, but they ended up being better than the ones they sell for boys. They are longer and slimer, which is exactly what my son needs. He is very narrow and very tall and no clothes ever fits him with the exception of these ... GAP slim fit. I hemmed them and they look fantastic. Classic look. I prefer to buy on a longer side anyway as kids grow fast and this way, I can get a better use of clothes.

I like that 4's are an option in Toddler and girls since my daughter needs longer length but a smaller waist. The 4's in toddler are too shirt but the 4's in girls have some extra length on them.

Too small in the waist
I have always loved Gap ... my girls because of the great "fit" but the sizing on these ... not accurate! My daughter just turned 9 and is tall and thin/average for her height. We purchased a pair of 10 regular in the straight cut a month ago and they fit great w/ room to spare but these 10 regular bootcut were so tight she could barely button them. My daughter also complained that they were very tight in the legs and she is very trim through the leg area. I will be returning these and buying elsewhere since I know the size 12 will be too long and I don't want to pay to have them hemmed up! I am very disappointed in the accuracy of their sizing...these fit more like a slim!

Consistency, consistency, NOT
My daughter loved these ... first time....First, we bought online the dark and the light version of the same ... found that the fit differed. The darks were fab. We then returned the light and bought two more darks, and these two fit differently right out of the bag than the dark we had bought a few weeks earlier. My daughter, a petite, curvy cross country runner, has difficulty finding ... fit a smaller waist, so we had high hopes that we would end up with three ... Instead, only one fits. I do love that we can return to the local store, however the local store does not carry her size- girls 16 or 18.

Not the slim fit I was hoping for... :(
Based on all the other reviews of these ... being too small I was hopeful, and thought perhaps these ... would actually fit my slender girls. Let me start by saying yes my girls are thin by todays standards only, but they are by no means skin and bones. It is always a struggle to find ... don't look ridiculous on them and these once again disappointed.When you have to adjust the adjustable waist all the way to the last button the ... really balloon out and look silly around their little behind. Gap used to be the only place that had slim fit ... actually worked for my kids but I guess as the rest of the nation grows so are their "Slim" fit ...

Sizing on Girls ... Has Changed Dramatically
These were way too small. The sizing on Gap ... Girls seems to have changed drastically. What used to be a 14 Slim in girls ... now a very long size 8. Quality control issues? I have returned these and did not exchange them for another pair. I have decided to go elsewhere for girls ... Please consider bringing back to the old sizing of a couple of years ago.

I am SO relived to find a retailer that makes ... fit healthy girls. There are only 2 stores where I can find ... fit my child who is a healthy weight and size. It's so sad that most retailers focus so much on the products of this generations childhood obesity epidemic that my healthy child has nothing to choose from. The 10 slims are PERFECT. Thank you Gap!!

MORE straight let dark ... please!
My girls LOVE the straight leg dark ... two years ago and they've grown and need more. PLEASE, make more straight leg (the ONLY cut they like) in a dark wash with plain flat pockets. We bought several pairs last time you offered them. They don't like flap pockets and they don't like whiskers, just plain, dark, straight leg ... like only GAP can make them! PLEASE!!!! :)

Where''s the fit for average sized girls??
My daughter started kindergarten this fall, and it has been a painful process trying to find her new pants. She was outgrowing her Size 4 pants. Many of them were becoming floods. She's an average sized ... 44" tall, 44lbs., 21.5" waist). We tried a few other brands, before Gap ... fall sales, the deals were pretty good, BUT the other brands we tried were a "wash" -- the slim fits were WAY too tight -- it was a struggle to get them on past her thighs and virtually painful to get them off, and the so called regular fits were falling off of her even with the adjustable waist bands adjusted to the 5th or 6th notch on boths sides of the waist. After trying on literally dozens of pants with no success whatsoever, we finally tried Gap. According to the size charts, the Girls 5 Regular *should* be a good fit on her. As with other brands, the slim fits were a "no go." The Gap regular fit -- well, it's better than other brands we've tried. With the waist adjusted to the 4th or 5th slot on both sides, these pants will do . . . . . . JUST . . . . . but I'm wondering -- how long is the adjustable waist going to last if I have to cinch it up that tight? They're a bit long, as well. She walks on them in her bare feet, and needs to wear boots with them to keep them off the ground (That's ok. From now through April, we like boots in Alaska.) This pair fits a bit better than other Girls 5 Regular ... we have. And Gap, SERIOUSLY, stop making low rise pants for little girls!! The waist is 1 1/2" - 2" BELOW her belly button! She's only 5-years old! I should not be worrying about her mooning somebody every time she sits, bends down, or gets on the floor to play. The rise on these pants needs to be, AT LEAST, 1" HIGHER. She does have low rise underwear, BUT clothing manufacturers should NOT even being making low rise pants and underwear in little ... sizes! Alas, I did choose to keep these, as finding decent pants for her has been painful, and these have been some of the best I've found so far.

Not as pictured, returns a hassle
Sorry gap, but this may be our last online order- the sizing and styling of your girls ... just too inconsistent. Of 2 pairs of size 16, both were the same length as same style size 14 from last year. (if you try to figure out the length from the web description, it says inseam of 26", which apparently goes for sizes 4-18.) this pair came with 2 rips in the knee and a hole in the back pocket the size of a 50-cent piece. The description does say there could be some distressing, but there is none evident in the photo and this is extreme. To top it off, returns have gotten more and more difficult. The website requires you to re enter info repeatedly, order number, etc, which should all be linked from your account. Then i was unable to print the return label (though im sure i will be charged forr it.) cant beleive they dont include the label in the original package, thogh if you read the order, they tell you to use the enclosed return label. Thanks, but no thanks, gap.

Distressed is an understatement
Be aware, these arrived looking nothing like the photo on the website. There were rips and holes. To be fair, the description did say some pairs come with distressing, but these were ridiculously distressed and are going back. We have also found major problems with sizing in the girls 14-16 size range- they are all over the place and therefore very difficult to order- too bad since our local gap rarely carries these sizes. We are also very frustrated with the return process- the web procedure is really unwieldy, requiring multiple re entries of personal info and password, order number, etc, all things that are obviously stored in your account anyway. Printing the return label was impossible this time- the best part is that the invoive tells you to use the label that is provided with the invoive- which hasnt been provided for the past several orders for is. Not worth the hassle.
