I have purchased the boys slim sized carpenter ... my son several times as he progresses up the size chart. He likes this style because of their comfort. I like the style because they look great on my tall slender son! They are loose without being baggy. I also love the medium wash: hip looking without being sloppy

Great ... my grandson loves them because they are in style and comfy!
I love these ... They are not stiff like alot of ... don't come with holes in them. They have worn marks in the ... (faded knees and such), they are my grandson's favorite!!! They only thing I can say negative with them is they are hard to get sizes. Hopefully, Gap doesn't discontinue these, I had Gap charge send two pairs from different stores. My grandson is definitely not a skinny jean kind of guy. He wears alot of Gap thermals and sweatshirts that these ... look great with. All his Gap baggy plaid shirts with color tees under them also look great with these carpenter jean!!!

Husky!
These ... best fit for my "husky" sized ... It's near impossible to find ... fit him... and even more rare to find ... fit AND are fashionable. To top it all off, these ... (up to the size 8 Husky only) have a hook (disguised as a button) so that my little man can actually use the boys room and do himself up afterwards! We originally ordered the 10 husky (planning to shorten them) thinking that's the size he would need. Luckily, those were too big. Starting at the 10H, the pants have a regular button close instead of the hidden hook on the smaller sizes. The buttonhole on these ... ordered 7 pair, so it wasn't just a fluke) is too small, making it quite a challenge for me to button and unbutton them... and impossible for an 8 year old ... (especially one that is squirming trying not to wet himself as he struggles with the button). Great ... wish the hook close was on larger sizes as well.

Uncomfortable Utility loop descends from rear pocket and presses on back of thigh when sitting, causing pain
I absolutely love the look and fit of these jeans but my kids (boys 6 and 8) refuse to wear them. Upon further inspection of their complaints, the middle stitch of the utility loop was pressing on the back of their thigh when they sat on them. It's a thicker area that doesn't quite rest on the side, it actually descends off the back pocket. Seems like an odd spot for a utility loop to me. eally bad design. Both boys complained of pain and had a bruise where the ultility loop is folded over and sewn. I love GAP ... but will be purchasing without the loop and getting loose fit from now on

WORST ... HAVE EVER BOUGHT!
MY POOR 8 YR OLD SON JUST CAME HOME FROM SCHOOL WITH A GIANT RIP DOWN THE FRONT OF HIS ... HAVE THESE FOR MY OTHER KIDS AND THEY HAVE HOLES IN THE FRONT SEEM AFTER A FEW MONTHS AND NOW THEY ARE GOING INTO THE TRASH ! MY POOR KID WAS SO EMBARASSED!!!!!!!!! THESE ... SO THIN AND AFTER AFTER A CPL WASHES LOOK OLD! I HAVE OTHER TYPES OF GAP ... MY BOYS AND THEY ARE MUCH BETTER BUT THESE I DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Great ...
I really like these ... My boys don't like to wear ... but these they will wear. They are comfortable and allow movement for active boys. Definitely a fave!

stylish AND practical
I LOVE Gap ... my boys. They look darling but are also very durable. I can count on a pair of ... holding up for the whole season, whereas ... other stores get worn out before my boys grow out of them. These are great - and you can't beat the adjustable waist band!

Husky Sizes
I have raised 2 boys. The oldest now 21 the youngest now 13. With both boys I have shopped everywhere and tried on numerous pairs of ... both of them. Gap husky solved our problems. I could not have asked for better size on, dependable, and very reasonably priced pair of ... husky size. Now that is the only ... my 13 yr. old wears. If I had only discovered Gap Husky Sizes earlier I would have saved so much time, money, and aggravation. Thank you Gap. I would reccomend these ... anyone to make life easier during these akward sized years for thier children.

Great ...
These have been the go to ... both of my boys for the last few years. We have tried so many brands and Gap's slim sizing just seems to be the best fit for my tall lanky boys! They are also durable enough to hand down for another round when the older one grows out of them.

Gap is my favorite
My son loves this time of year. He gets new ... Gap. He has worn them since he was a baby. They are the best ... active boys. They are durable, yet soft. They wash well and I am able to hand them down to my nephew!

My boys have worn GAP loose fit ... forever. I just buy the next size up to be ready for the growth spurt. They fit well and the adjustable waist is great! I don't have hand me-downs because both my boys wear out the knee (yes, only one side!) but otherwise they are durable and comfortable. My only disappointment in these ... however is that they are no longer avaialble in stores - just online only.

BRING BACK THE OLD VERSION OF THE LOOSE FIT ...

ONLY ... have been buying for each of my 3 boys for the past 3 years. Last week when I went to your website to purchase the next size up I was shocked to see that you had changed the design. I have many years left of purchasing these ... have told other moms about them. Judging by your website comments, these ... were a favorite for many, so please listen to your customers and go back to the old design. Given that you could only purchase them on the website, I will not be ordering the new design based on the previous reviewers comment about inaccurate sizing within multiple pairs of the same ... has time for returns when the old design was a sure thing for busy moms looking to purchase something quickly on line?

Not for muscular boys
If you have boys into sports, these ... just will not fit properly. The size charts are not correct at all - particularly if you compare them to anyone else's like [@]. The fit is more appropriate to [@] size charts, however, so if you really want to know how these fit, check out their websites for the proper charts. According to this chart, my son should wear a size 12R, but in the store, a size 14R was more appropriate for all types of their ... We've been Gap ... wearers for quite some time but now, since they're made in [*], they just do not fit the same so we're having to look elsewhere. If you have muscular boys into sports, these things will be quite tight through their thighs. Lee's and Levi's, however, fit quite well.

A little tight
These ... do fit my son in the waist, but only if the "adjustors" are on the first button hole (i.e. adjusted to be as loose as possible). I've never put a pair of huskey's on my son where I didn't have to go several button holes in on the size adjustors, so that really surprised me. Also, they are difficult for him to button. I wish they would continue to put snaps on boys ... even as they grow up. In my opinion, boys don't care at all about the "look" of a button vs. snap, they care about how *easy* and quick it is to get their pants done up.

Unique Customer
I purchase these ... my teenage son who is very disabled. He sits in a wheelchair, has a g tube, has a medical device implanted in his abdomen, and wears diapers. Despite all that, these ... very easy to get on him and allow him plenty of room for comfort. I love that he can have a little style and wear ... like other teenage boys.

AWESOME
I have 3 boys and NEVER buy them any other brand of ... GAP ... AWESOME!!! They fit perfect. I have one ... average size, one on the chunky side, and one that is thin. With the adjustable waist these ... fit all three boys perfect. Sometimes they outgrow them before they wear them out. GAP ... durable and last a long time. I will never buy any other brand for my boys!

All Gap ... wonderful. They are the only ... my boys can wear and I feel like I get my moneys worth. Sure , I've bought all the cheaper ones but the knees wear out so fast or tear at seams that if I have to buy cheap ... more often, I'm not saving money so I always buy Gap ... adjustable waist, they always fit.

Best ...
These ... last! At least until my boys out grow them. My youngest ... lean string bean so I am grateful that the ... offered in slim sizes. My oldest is in high school and still asks for gap ... over the higher dollar competitors ... his peers are seeking. There is no need to spend time shopping around for sizes or prices. I just go to gap.

Good for certain builds
I ordered two pair of these ... - one for an average build kiddo and one for a boys who has a sturdier buiild but who isn't thick enough to wear husky ... definitely be ordering more for the latter child because they fit him amazingly well. I also ordered some straight fit for child number one; while the straight fit was perfect for him, the loose fit fell off even with the adjustable waist tightened up completely. The loose fit was way too loose for him, so those will be going back, while the loose fit is perfect for my in between build son.

Pleased, but 1 small improvement needed
I am very pleased with the ... I've bought for both my 6 1/2 yr. old and my 4 yr. old sons. They fit well, they're comfortable and launder well also. However, my boys are very active and the knees of the ... wearing out much faster than expected. I know patches can be ironed on for continued wear, but patches only last so long and it takes away from the quality of the ... Can you make them with reinforced knees??

Happy with purchase
I ordered these ... boys size 10 and felt they ran a bit large. Not big enough to size down, perhaps they are better for huskier kids, even with the adjustable waist, I notice they slip down alot. I would recommend them for quality and style.

Seems that quality control is slipping.
My kids have worn GAP since they were born and until recently things seemed pretty true to size. In the last year it seems like they might be cutting fabric free hand. We ordered four pair of these ... same size for my 10 year old who just wants multiples of the one thing he likes. The ... were vastly different in size. One had a rise difference of at least two inches from the others. Two of them had legs that were about three inches narrower in the thighs. All of them varied in length by as much as four inches. This variance is ridiculous. The ones that are the right size are great for active boys that are hard on clothes.

Crazy Long!
Not sure what to do about these ... Both of my boys have worn Old Navy and GAP ... since they could walk, but this year they are totally a bad fit! Each year they tend to go up one size, so I ordered one size up for them again, (they had grown out of the size last year) but when these arrived they were both about 6 inches TOO LONG! Makes no sense to me and I'm not sure what the answer from here is!
