Great purchase
My husband wanted some light ... did not have a worn, ripped look. Also he wanted ... were neither "skinny" or saggy. ... bill. ... true to ... he wears them with hoodies for work, and with sweaters/button ups for going out. I am please with my purchase.

The ... Standard ... have become my favorite ... Previously I always bought Levis ... but when ... came out with the Authentic ... year or so ago I bought a ... liked them so much that I switched to ... my ... instead of Levis. When the Authentic ... were discontinued I bought a ... Standard ... liked them so much that I bought additional ... well and look good. The legs are straight cut, not too tight or baggie. I'm tall and slender and find that ... compliment any type shirt that I wear from pressed, casual, polo or t shirts. ... can be worn casually or with a sport jacket.

the long and short of it
I love ... no exception. The wash and weight ot the denim is perfect. My only complaint is that ... not offered in a 31 inseam. I ordered a 30 inseam which is normally perfect. ... however are a very short 30. This is the second ... have been a very short 30. I also ordered a 32 inseam, thinking that a 32 on the short side could possibly work. Unfortunately the 32 inseam appeared to be something closer to a 34. Other than the length issue - love them!

Strange sizing...
I've ordered ... my husband. Actually ... first ... I've ordered for him. His parameters are 5'6'' - so rather short than tall. I measured his old ... check the size and my calculations shown 29/30. Then I've checked feedbacks and noticed that many of them state that length is not true, so I ordered 29/32. Glad I ordered longer ones - ... desired length, so 30 would have been too short for sure. At the same time waist 29 is too loose - more like 30 or even 31, same I can say about thign - ... very loose. Belt can fix loose waist and thign are not very critical, but overall I expected better ... Also shade of blue is much darker than in picture and fading is hardly noticable.

Worst quality control evver
I've worn ... 33 x 32 for years and recently wore out one of my several pairs, so I ordered a new ... online. ... were an inch too long, so I returned them to the store which only had 3 other ... stock: 2 were, again, too long, and the one ... right length was too tight in the waist. Went home and ordered three ... online, same range of problems; nothing ... Now, at this point, I'm basically through as a Gap customer, but I'm so intrigued by this shoddiness I wanted to know just what it would take to find a ... matched the stated dimensions, so I ordered 6 ... 3 33 x 32, and 3 34 x 32. Success! I got one ... 33 x 32 and one ... 34 x 32 that were each actually 33 x 32. I'll keep them, but it's the last time I'm buying anything from the ... shouldn't have to buy 10 ... get 2 that are actually the right dimensions. This is how I imagined things were in the Soviet Union.

Where is the quality control
My husband wears a 34 waist 30 length. We ordered 3 ... were an inch too short. He went back to the store and tried on another ... were too short as well. The other two ... fine. ... needs to check quality control to make sure that a 30 is a 30 every time. ... were returned.

Time to move on :-(
Two weeks ago, I purchased a pair of 1969 Standard ... my local store. I have been wearing ... many years and was always happy with the overall ... comfort…despite a few changes over the years. After purchasing the new ... noticed that the denim was much thinner than my older ... but I was still happy with the overall ... store only had one pair in my size, so I ordered three more pairs online. ... mistake! According to the label on the inner front pocket, the store bought ... were made in China, but the online ... were made in Vietnam. As it turned out, the Vietnamese ... were completely different (i.e. size, ... color, stitching, everything). I am extremely disappointed! I am tall and slender and it’s not easy to find ... well. So, when I find a perfect pair, I stay loyal to the brand. Not anymore. Goodbye Gap.

... too short and an unwanted design is on the pocket.
I purchased some ... line for my boyfriend, John Besmehn. In the past he was a 31x28 in the exact ... ordered online. When we got them, ... were too short and there was a design on the pocket that was not on the ... ordered on the website (the 1969 ... we ordered were plain on the pockets and he doesn't like designs on the pockets). Unfortunately, he had to go to New York the very next day and took the ... him as his others had worn out at the crotch seam, so ... have been worn and washed and I can't return them, however, ... useless as ... least two inches too short. Had I known ... were not the ... thought I was purchasing due to the style number and the pictures on the internet, I would have ordered a 31x30. Tanya Farouki [@]

disappointed
I've been wearing ... exclusively for many years. When I needed a couple of new ... jumped at the discount and free shipping and just ordered on line. The ... always is. Just fine. But much to my surprise, the styling had been changed to include some pretty stitching on the back pockets. A woman may have been fine with it but it makes the design very effeminate. I returned them to the store for a refund.

great for big and tall!
I ordered these for my boyfriend. He is a big guy, 6'3" and big built, and he loves them. The color is nice so they can be worn with a nice sweater or button down. Also, the length is perfect for his height. I would recommend these for all the big teddy bears out there. :)

FINALLY
So I bought 4 pairs of Banana Republic straight fit ... 2003. I love those ... They are the perfect size and perfect shape. So as the ... have frayed, I started looking for replacements the last few years. Unforutnately, the BR straight fit is way different and so is the GAP straight fit (I have a review for those as well). These are perfect. The rise is not too low, the leg is straight and the leg opening is perfectly between tapered and boot leg cut. Now it's time for me to stock up on these in each color before GAP decides to change up their fit. I highly recommed these ... FYI, my old BR ... 33-30 and these new GAP ... 32-28. They are identical in sizing.

Great!
I really like these ... hesitant to buy a new pair of Standards, because I love my old one's so much and these looked so different. But, they are just as comfortable and already feel broken in. The wash is pretty dark, but dresses up nearly any outfit I match them in. Only complaint are the pocket designs- if I could change anything I would get rid of them. But, they're subtle enough that it's not that ... deal. Great fit, nice comfort, everything I expected!

very impressed with these ...
These ... were gifts for both my twenty something son and my sixty something husband. They both loved them. As ... they are fresh and clean cut and the color is perfect for college days and casual days at work. thanks gap you made shopping easy.

Hip Again?
I am almost 42 years old and had been wearing "loose" fit ... many years. I finally decided that I needed to get with the times and try on some slimmer fitting ... After trying several brands, including Levi's, I found Gap Standard. While they are slimmer than what I had been accustomed to, they fit really well and not too tight. My wife told me they look great and wondered why I hadn't done this sooner. So, I feel great wearing slimmer fitting ... certainly don't feel my age. I just wonder why my wife didn't tell me sooner that I wasn't hip anymore. Anyway, I now have two pairs of the Resin Rinse, one Black, and one Grey. On top of loving the Standard, I am really impressed with buying the latest pair online. Gap.com is a great experience, with an easy to navigate site and FREE shipping (over $50). Great job!

Not as pictured and too bulky
I'm a short guy so I went into GAP looking for a new pair of ... because I know they at least carry smaller sizes. However, none of the staff was willing to even look for my awkward size 29x28 or 28x28. They all approach you every 5 seconds asking "can I help you find something" but their response was "That's like looking for a needle in a hay stack, better off going online" Well isn't it your job to at least look in your catalog to see if you have any of those sizes that I could at least have a starting point to look? Anyway, so I went home and checked out some pairs online. The ... pictured here aren't the ... get. The ... pictured show navy stitching and a dark button, but the ... get have a bright brass button and gold sticking. I bought these specifically for the reason of being DARK ... can wear to work. Despite this I did like the wash so I tried them on. But the waist was way huge and the fit through the whole leg too bulky and wide but especially in the front pelvic area. They bunched up when I walked or sat. I wanted to like these ... but they just didn't work out. When i returned them in the store the guy told me their standard fit runs wide in the waist size... exactly why I wanted to try a pair on in store. Is it too much to ask for someone to carry some smaller sizes for short guys like me?

Great ... but...
The manufacturing tolerance for these ... terrible. Because of the size, I had to order these through the website. I ordered two pair of the same size. One fit great, the other was at least an inch shorter in the legs and much tighter in the waist. I exchanged the ill fitting pair and received a new pair in the mail. They were an inch longer than the pair that fit and much looser in the waist (which made them at least 2 inches longer and wider than the pair I had just returned). I sent back that pair and received a new pair that was mostly the right size. So, if you can find a pair that actually is the size that they should be, they are great ...

Frumpy
Bought these ... my husband who is a size 33x32, 30 yrs old. I usally buy him gap boot cut ... always buy 33x32 and they ... great, however these pants ... much different and they were too long!! They were also alot more baggy than appear on model.They were not flattering on his athletic build and made him look like 10lbs heavier. very blah these are on the way back!!

Bring back last years cut please!
I usually don't write reviews of clothes but in this case I felt I had to. The resin wash pattern from 2010-11 were perfect for people who wanted simple, comfortable ... don't make them look like a trendy teenager. I loved how the older ... did not have the yellow embellishment on the back pocket. I loved the somewhat more relaxed cut with the wider leg opening of the older ... 2012 pattern has changed ALOT. They fit more like the straight fit ... leg opening is narrower and seem to taper significantly. I know this is the current trend, but why mess with the Standard pattern when you already have Straight fit and Skinny ... Also, I hate the stitching on the back pocket. They make the ... look like LEVIS knockoffs. I would much prefer the simple, clean and timeless look and fit of the older Standard ...

These have those stupid "x" details on the back pockets and brass instead of silver heardware and not the white stitching either. Runs long and big.

6 foot 1 inch, 33x34, these are the only ...
I hate buying ... If I find a pair I like, I'll wear them for a year and then go back to buy more and they won't ... same. That doesn't happen with Gap ... I've also found that since I'm size 33x34, that many brands aren't really 34 and they end up too short. Again, with Gap that's not a problem. I'm avoided Gap in the past because of the cost, but since I know they are the only ... me right I just watch the online sales until a good one comes along (30% off!). Right now I have 5 pairs of these ... my drawer. The only negative thing I have to say about them is that they are not durable in the pocket seams, ... can tear easier than other brands (however, I'm pretty rough on things). It's not a ... enough issue to avoid buying them though. If I want massive durability for a task at hand I'll throw on a pair of Carharts.

Bad sizing made right
I previously owned two pairs of these ... wore every day. When they finally wore out (one pair about a month before the other), I went online to purchase the same ... same size (I have to buy online because I wear 29W28L, not typically available in the store). When they arrived at home, I put on a pair and they were much too ... tried the other pair and they were similarly too large. I laid them down on the bed on top of my old pair and they were clearly at least an inch too ... waist and at least an inch too long. Clearly, they cut incorrectly or from the wrong guide. Bummer! So I took them into the store (#06806) at West Town Mall in Knoxville, TN. Susan S. found another pair of 29W28L from an internet return that ... great (luck!). Then she spent about half an hour helping me to evaluate other sizes and ... which I haven't done in a few years. I ended grabbing a nice pair of cords as well. The expertise and customer service effort of the staff, especially Susan S., is why I continue to buy Gap ... year after year.

PERFECT

I am ... guy and finding ... perfect is hard sontimes. Thesese ... perfect I buy gap ... all the time now havent been disappointed yet.

Nice ...
I was very happy with the quality of these ... Other reviews said ... ran a bit ... so I ordered my husband's normal size and one size down. He kept the smaller size. I just wish the shorter length was available in stores.

great ...
These ... really have a terrific ... overall, once you figure out the size that's right for you. As with a lot of GAP pants, the sizes tend to run large (I wore 30w for ever, and now 29 is often too ... weigh at least 5 more pounds). I think these are a terrific antedote to all of the baggy, over sized ... currently out there, but still look well cut and modern. Definitely not "old guy" ... My 21 yr old son loves them. If you don't have much in the butt end, however, these pants may hang a bit.

I don't know what it is about the 1969 Standard Vintage wash version of these ... 34W x 36L were too ... 33W x 36L ... just fine. Maybe just a hair long, but I expected that. The resin and washed versions 34W x 36L ... just fine. Weird. With all that in mind, these ... look great. These are the best ... have found in a long time.

Runs ...
My husband likes this style of GAP ... but this particular one that I just ordered runs ... ordered a 33 waist, but it really measures the same as some of his old 34 waist standard ... I'll return it and try either the 32 waist in the standard or maybe the 33 waist in the authentic style.

great ... fade coloring is awful
My 38 year old husband is sometimes hard to ... get a stylish pair of ... (34W and 28L). He wanted a darker shade to wear out on more dressy occasions, so we ordered ... We usually love Gap ... great. But the faded feathering was very prominent and somewhat looked ridiculous. And ... were the least "feathered/faded" ... pictures on the website. Why can't Gap make some dark wash ... without the feathering and fade patterns for men? Everything else about them is great.
