Not too big
I think the problem with other reviewers is that they have grown use to Gap clothes, which normally run big for the stated size. So, an extra small at the Gap will run bigger then and an extra small at Banana Republic (same goes for pants). Really, they are each just marketing to a certain demographic. This blazer fits more "true to size" then most of the others that the Gap sells (for some unknown reason). They should have called this a "tailored" blazer, which is code for "fitted", which is code for "not as big as other clothes we sell which are similarly labeled in size." Anyway, when Gap shoppers purchase this blazer, they will think it’s too small. Sizing is manipulative, subjective, and just plain trivial. Lucky they have such liberal mail order return policies.

Worth for money.
I tried the coat on at the store first before buying it online. The material is great. I found out that Gap's Blazer doesn't standardize the size. Each blazer is vary size. The one I ordered online came too big. The sleeve was too long. I'm very disappointed at first. However, Gap allowed me to exchange at the store. So I actually tried each one and fortunately I found the one that fits my size. The bottom line is you need to try it on at the store in order to get the one that fits your size. I would give it 5 stars if the size of the blazer is standard.

Classic blazer
I bought 2 of these blazers in large for my two older sons. It was a just right fit for my 17 year old who is 6' 1" and 178lbs. My 19 year old who is 6'2" and 190 with broader shoulders couldn't move his arms. Not sure if the XL will be too big though. The blazer is a little darker than it appeared on my monitor but my son really likes it. Very nicely tailored!

Chino Sport Coat -- Works For Me!
I took the advice of other reviewers, and ordered a size larger than normal. I'm 6'5" and 205. The XL Tall fits perfect -- no alterations needed (never has happened for me on a blazer before). I usually have to have the sleeves let out (pricey) and the sides in the lower half of the jacket taken in. The bottom line is: if you have a long, fit and thin build -- buy one size up and you'll get a great fitting jacket at a decent price; if you have a different build -- look for a chino ... elsewhere.

glad I read the reviews
I found this blazer in the store and when I held it up the M which my husbands usually wears, I thought it was small. I waited to go on line and showed him the picture and after we received it we could see it is cut small. In his case it worked because some of the M I buy him from GAP are a little big on him. But if you are a true M go with a bigger size. He is 5'8" and about 155 lbs.

A little saddened....
I thought this would have been a GREAT blazer for the Spring and Summer months unfortunately...it fit too big. It wasn't a tailored look that I was looking for.

WTH
I most deff messed up by purchasing this jacket prior to checking out the reviews. They were exactly on point... I totally understand its a tailored jacket but dammmmmmmmmnnnnnnnn... crazy tight. Im 6'2, 280 with a athletic built and the XXLT is a waste of time to purchase for all the big guys of the world..

Way off
Too small. What else can I say? I ordered XXL. I'm big but not that big. Jacket was small through the shoulders. Also was damaged during shipment. Hole in bag and rip in lapel. Still waiting for refund.

Ok...I ordered this jacket b/c I thought it would be great to add to the woredorbe but I was surprised to realize that the xxlt was not for me. That's okay I will order the xxlt. However I was pleasantly surprised to see that it still wasn't meant for me to have. The only reason why I order from gap b.c it has very nice styles just like many up scale stores but big tall sizes. So if your a big guy with a big chest... This isn't it.....

Fix your Blazer or fix your website
I purchased this blazer at the 3XL size because the Gap claimed it would fit a 51-53 inch chest and 38 1/2" arms. I usually wear a 48L... I'm a big guy but definitely thought this jacket would fit according to the Gap's sizing chart. [...] when I tried it on, the sleeves were about 3 inches too short, extremely tight in the arms, shoulders, and chest. Very mis leading. Thankfully it was easily returned, but I will never purchase any coat from the Gap again.
